"Ray Rainwater and his crew are very professional, trustworthy & faithful to his words. They replaced rotten posts on porch & shed, and replaced & painted rotten fascia boards, installed new metal door with a pet door on shed, & built new double-doors on the shed. In small bathroom in the house they replaced fiberglass shower/tub with new porcelain tub & custom tile, plumbing fixtures & access door to plumbing, new toilet, exhaust heater/fan, light fixtures, vanity, ceramic tile on floor, drywall & painted cabinets & walls. Ray also replaced our roof from hurricane storm damage. I’m happy with the results. Ray addressed any questions/changes I had until I was happy. They worked with us thru Covid, two hurricanes, and Ray’s fall from someone else’s roof. They cleaned up any mess they made and left the area clean. We have gained a friend as well with Ray. He’s a good man y’all."

"This was a rental house which the tenants were waiting to move in. The paint job was sloppy with wall paint on trim , small missed areas, inadequate coverage of closet shelves, and used a dirty tarp, spilling dirt from a previous job on the freshly steam cleaned carpets. Not to mention a small dab of paint on the carpet.

I gave the owner of the company 3 chances to rectify, but never completely would resolve issues. This caused  much inconvenience for me, my wife and our tenants.

"Mr Ammons returned my call promptly and came out to looked at the job.  I explained that the house was currently being painted and I needed to get the work done before the painters finished.  He quoted me an estimate and stated that he would get started the upcoming weekend.  He did the work in a timely manner as promised.  He stayed in touch with me throughout the job and let me know when he found any issues.  I will use him again in the future.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Drawing your own floor plans is acceptable for many kinds of projects, including interior design and room layout. You can use floor plan software to create the plans but keep in mind that the floor plan will only be as accurate as the measurements you take and enter into the software.

An architect is usually involved in the process of determining the layout and structural features and requirements of the home itself, taking into account the local codes, climate, and materials needed to make the home structurally sound. Architects may communicate more with contractors and subcontractors throughout the building process. In comparison to architects, interior designers typically focus on the aesthetics of a home interior and possibly exterior, helping the homeowner decide on color schemes, textures, and materials to incorporate into the design.

Yes, many providers offer design consultations to help optimize and maximize space, functionality, and usage. It is recommended to confirm the availability of this service with your specific installer or contractor.

Typically, general remodeling involves architects, contractors, interior designers, electricians, plumbers, and sometimes structural engineers. Each plays a role in bringing the project from concept to completion.

The average build timeline for a home is between six and 12 months, with timelines pushing toward the upper end of that range if you’re creating a custom design or need a lot of land preparation before getting started. Hiring a general contractor or a custom homebuilder will help speed up the process, as you’ll see fewer delays between different parts of the build process getting done.
