How good is Ed Chachere?  It's hard to put in words the detail and meticulous nature of Ed and Elijah.  Their work is as close to perfection as possible in a restoration of a home where lumber was cut to a different specification than you find today.  They have repaired walls, floors, renovated bathrooms, resolved problems with old construction, and are in the final process of bringing the home back to it's original glory.  Ed is proficient at working with other contractors and has been invaluable in his ability to coordinate efforts.  Needless to say, not only has Ed done a fabulous job on the home's interior, but he has also saved our sanity during the process.  Interior of the home is near completion and we are starting on outside.

He did an excellent job with the curves in the design.  The only hiccup was there was a one day delay on getting the cement truck to the house.  But on the next morning his crew was here and so was the cement truck and they quickly finished the job.  I would use Mike on any other concrete work I had.

I am very satisfied with Ed's work.  Ed strives to please and everything he does he strives to achieve perfection.  He uses two family members to assist him who are as pleasant to have around as himself.  All of the cutting and sanding is done outside so construction dust minimized.  If your job requires attention to detail and fine fitting Ed is the right person to do your project. He was always ready to customize to suit our needs and was always willing to conceptualize projects with us.  Ed, of course, is in demand but it is worth waiting for him to schedule your project.  If he subcontracts part of a job, he uses only contractors that meet his high standards.

Workmanship was as always top notch as always.  It is a pleasure to have Ed and Elijah around.  We look forward to them coming and completing the next phase of the remodeling project early next year.

This job was done exceptionally well. The crew worked from sunup to sunset. They were very meticulous, professional, and courteous. We're halfway through the stages of remodel. The front entry and carport are getting ready to be updated. The columns are to be replaced and a retaining rock wall will be installed. I'm confident that these jobs will be performed at the same level of professionalism. Ed is always busy, so if he needs to schedule you for the job instead of getting to you immediately, i know the wait will be worth your while. Stay patient because he's worth it! I will review the future jobs as soon as they are completed!

I phoned Ed Chachere to get an estimate on the job above.  He was very professional over the phone inquiring in detail about the services I wanted performed.  He explained to me that he would like to do some research prior to giving an estimate and recommending how to proceed.   He kept me informed every step of the way and clearly did his research.
Once we decided to proceed, Mr. Cachere continued to inform me about project details daily.  His precision to detail and work ethic is evident in his carpentry.  Several other professionals including a landscaper and home inspector have commented on how well built the pergola is and what a craftsman Mr. Chachere is.  I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Chachere to anyone wanting carpentry work performed.  In fact, because Mr. Chachere has done such beautiful work thus far, I am planning to use his services for other projects in our house.

As this was a comparatively complex project with Ed coordinating several other contractors, it took several weeks to complete.  As well as keeping his work area neat, Ed and his crew always cleaned up at the end of the day.  The inconvenience was well planned to be as little as possible.  Ed and his crew were a joy to have in the house, always respectful and considerate of us.  At the end of the job Ed and his crew did an excellent job cleaning of the debris accumulated.  As I have future home repairs I will call Ed first, I have no criticism of his work.

It was a good experience. They were pricey. They were more expensive than other people.

Ed Chachere is a local builder. There are a handful of people that work for him. They are very desired around town and are very sought after for very high end buildings by upmarket people. A lot of architects in town use Ed Chachere Construction. His work is very precise and he is being very careful with our 60-year-old house. They are using screws instead of nails for the work. Everything is very, very sharp in the cuts and very clean. I like his precision and the fact that the work is strong. He handpicks the lumber and is very careful to put the right side out. As a carpenter myself I look for those kinds of things. He has been very considerate. There were a couple of deck boards that shouldn’t have been side by side, but they got it right by tearing them up and remixing it. That was an example of how they were very willing to do what we wanted them to do. He has involved me throughout the process. The other day he fell off my roof and had to be taken to the emergency room. He was back on the job the next day, but we just made him sit all day and give directions from the chair. He has been here everyday since. I think he is great. He worked from the crack of morning until almost the last bit of daylight in the evening. He put in long, long days and I like that about him. We will probably use him in future.
