Fayette Heating & Air was founded in 1971 with one man, one truck and $500. From the start, Al Melrose was committed to providing quality equipment with integrity and outstanding customer service. As a second generation family-owned business, those same values lead our company today. Fayette Heating & Air has been recognized nationally, regionally and locally for both business practices and its community efforts.

"BUYER BEWARE!!!!! This company is all about getting their $99.00 for the estimate, selling you an annual service fee and then quoting exuberant prices. Not really sure if they really care about doing the actual plumbing work. Recently gave me an estimate for a job of $500. Learned later after from another plumber that what they wanted to do was actually not correct AND should have cost no more than $250. Had I used Fayette Heating / H20 Mastero, I would have paid $600 for a job done incorrectly. At least the 99.00 I paid kept me from damaging my house further. There are a lot of reputable plumbers in Lexington. Suggest you look elsewhere"

Full service plumbing, HVAC and electrical contractor specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. All work is performed by our trained and highly experienced technicians - not subcontractors. "I typically do not leave reviews, but my experience with Tom Drexler Plumbing was so poor that I feel compelled to share it in hopes of preventing others from wasting their time and money. I initially contacted the company to address a leaking faucet in a spare bathroom. I was given a vague appointment window of 8 AM to 5 PM and informed that if I didn’t answer a call prior to their arrival, the technician would not show up. When the technician arrived, he spent time criticizing the company’s hiring practices rather than focusing on the repair. He determined that a full tub and shower replacement was needed, quoting over $1,000. The work could not be done the same day, requiring me to schedule another appointment. The technician arrived late and took the entire day to complete the job, spending a significant portion of time sitting on my staircase visibly exhausted. The installation was subpar—both the faucet and showerhead were protruding nearly two inches from the wall, and the showerhead was visibly crooked. The faucet and showerhead were protruding so far out they couldn't even be caulked. My wife documented the issues with photos. She sent them to me after the tech left. I immediately called Tom Drexler, informed them of the subpar work, and requested a different technician to correct the poor workmanship. A new technician arrived the following week and made the necessary adjustments. However, within four days of using the shower, a leak developed in the ceiling of the kitchen below, and our toilet began leaking from the base when flushed—suggesting possible plumbing pressure or blockage issues. I contacted the company again and scheduled yet another appointment. Despite being given the same 8 AM to 5 PM time frame, no one showed up, and I had to follow up myself to learn the technician wasn’t coming. Eventually, another technician did visit and claimed the ceiling leak was due to "residual water" and dismissed the toilet issue. When the ceiling stain continued to grow, I called again and requested a supervisor. The supervisor came a week later, concluded that the issue wasn’t related to their work, and left without offering any solutions. Altogether, I had to take four days off work to accommodate this series of visits. I now need to hire another plumber from a different company to resolve the ongoing leak. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Tom Drexler Plumbing. The quality of work, communication, and overall customer service were consistently poor throughout the entire process."

Graceland Air LLC is committed to excellence in every aspect of our business. We uphold a standard of integrity bound by fairness, honesty, and personal responsibility. Our distinction is the quality of service we bring to our customers. Accurate knowledge of our trade combined with ability is what makes us true professionals. Above all, we are watchful of our customers' interests and make their concerns the basis of our business.

"June 13, 2025 (First Visit): The technician injected 5.5 lbs. of refrigerant into the system (which holds up to 8 lbs) without performing a leak test to identify the root cause. I was charged $522.50 for this service. The repair failed two nights later, as the refrigerant leaked out again. June 16, 2025 (Second Visit): A leak test was finally performed, which located the leak in the evaporator coil inside the attic s air handler. I was charged an additional $250 for this diagnostic. The technician recommended replacing the coil and sent an estimate, which I approved. June 26, 2025 (Third Visit): The technician replaced the evaporator coil and recharged the system with 8 lbs. of refrigerant. I was charged $3,504.90 for this visit. However, the system failed again the next day when the breaker tripped due to a grounded compressor an issue that had not been diagnosed earlier. June 27, 2025 (Fourth Visit): Upon inspection, the technician confirmed the compressor in the outdoor unit had shorted. While on a call with the business owner, the technician charged my credit card for the full invoice amount of $3,504.90 before presenting the invoice or explaining the outcome of the repair. He then left without further explanation, stating that the business owner would follow up. Later that day, the business owner called to suggest replacing the entire HVAC system with one of the proposals from the earlier estimate. This recommendation should have been made prior to investing in the costly and ultimately ineffective coil replacement. At no point was I advised that the repair approach might not be viable or that full system replacement should be considered. To make matters worse, I later discovered that the technician had damaged the attic hatch during service and failed to disclose it."

Exhaust Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $150 to $400, depending on fan type and labor.

Exhaust fans reduce moisture, prevent mold growth, and improve bathroom air quality.

You’ll find the backdraft damper near the top of the range hood (where it connects to the ductwork). However, some range hoods also have a second damper, which is located close to the roof or exterior wall where the ductwork ends. If you don’t see a damper in either of these places, you might not have one.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

If your fan is ceiling-mounted and will vent through the attic to the outside, you will need an electrician to handle the wiring, and if you need to install ductwork for the first time or replace existing ductwork, you will need an HVAC professional as well.

By submitting this question, I acknowledge and agree that Angi may publicly display my name, city, state, and question on the website for professionals and others to see.
