We found DDR on Angi's List. We are very happy that we chose them for our basement project. They were reasonably priced, professional and very responsive to questions and concerns. Most importantly, the basement turned out great! The project manager Mike and his crew made sure everything was built to our satisfaction. He came up with a creative and stylish solution to address our low hanging duct work. All of the tradespeople involved (electricians, plumber, trim) did top notch work. Our primary contact Jon stayed in communication with us throughout the project. We had a really positive experience. We would highly recommend DDR for basement finishing projects

Quality of the work is excellent. They turned my sons basement into a beautiful in- law apartment. We called Jessie back to cover a patio for us. The workers were excellent at clean up and they are very respectful. We were kept notified of time and dates that workers would arrive. We appreciated the communication very much. They are prompt, excellent workmanship, respectful and got the job done in a timely manner. We would hire them again without a second thought. Distinctive Design is a very upstanding company. If you hire them they will do a great job, if you are not pleased with something they WILL make it right

Mr. Hayden is a trustworthy, timely, and very knowledgeable contractor. Mr. Hayden is very considerate and can be trusted to have access to the residence whether someone is home or not. In the past, I have heard horror stories from other people about contractors doing work in their houses. That is not the case with Mr. Hayden. Mr. Hayden’s years of experience and attention to detail was greatly appreciated during our basement renovation. Mr. Hayden’s flexibility as our basement renovation progressed was greatly appreciated and without a doubt we were extremely happy Mr. Hayden finished our basement into an excellent livable space

Used these guys for a complete basement project. Went from bare bones completely unfinished to a high quality, professionally done living space. Everything was done to code and inspected from the wiring, plumbing, framing, drywall, etc. Any defects we found, Kyle offered to come back and make it right, which he did. Great work overall

We heard noises of tiolet refilling for 2 weeks and contacted Hymer plumbing in this regard. One of their servicemen came out, listened to the noise and repaired one of the 2 toilets upstairs. Immediately after his repair, the refilling toilet noise returned. We re-contacted Hymer plumbing in this regard. They mentioned they would send a service man back out. Unfortunately , prior to his return, the cut off valve on the unrepaired toilet failed and flooded the downstairs costing $1,200.00 for clean up. I depend on these service people to make the right diagnosis and repair. As you can see that didn't happen in this case and what could have been repaired correctly and cost effectively initially turned into a snowball of costs amounting to $1,577.94

It went great! Jerry responded to a late night phone call I made in a panic about water leaking from my water heater. He came over after 10:30PM to help me shut off my water at my very old shut off valve and drain the tank. I was expecting a hefty service fee, but it was very reasonable. After pricing different companies, I ended up going back to Jerry the next day for a replacement water heater and shut off valve. The price I was quoted was more than fair; it was very generous. He and his staff were punctual, completed the job in a timely manner, and cleaned up after install. If you’re looking for an high quality experienced plumber who tell you like it is and not try to sell you things you don’t need, definitely give him a call. You won’t regret it

Plumbing FAQ

  1. How much does a plumber cost?

Answer: The cost of a plumber ranges from $175 to $480, with a national average of $330. However, the price will vary depending on job complexity, timing, location, supplies and materials, permits, and level of expertise. These costs typically include toilet repairs, faucet installations, and leaky pipes. In addition to the service call, you may also need to budget for haul-away and trip fees often required during more complicated jobs. Ask your local plumbing contractor about these fees before hiring them.

  2. How much does a plumber charge to replace a toilet?

Answer: On average, you can expect to pay your local plumbing contractor between $125 and $230 to replace an old toilet, with most residential homeowners paying around $150 to $180 for professional installation. You’ll need to consider materials and labor when calculating a final price. Not all toilets are equal. Depending on the brand you choose and the features you want, a new toilet might run you anywhere from $100 to $1,300. Add in the price of labor and installation, and your total project can jump up to $200 and $1,500.

  3. How much does a plumber cost to fix a toilet?

Answer: According to our service providers, it costs roughly $75 to $200 on average to have your toilet repaired. However, this price will vary depending on the complexity of the job and the materials needed for the fix. Repairs can be messy and less-than-pleasant to address, but having a functioning toilet is most definitely necessary. If you’re experiencing problems with your toilet, contact a local, reputable plumbing contractor right away, as avoiding repairs can lead to bigger—and more expensive—issues over time.

  4. Is liquid plumber safe for septic systems?

Answer: Good news! Liquid-Plumr® is safe for septic systems. Most drain cleaners disrupt the pH in your septic tank, which prevents the good bacteria from breaking down septic waste. The chemical make-up in Liquid-Plumr® works with the bacteria to break down waste quickly without harming your septic system. Still, it’s best to confirm with your local plumbing provider if Liquid-Plumr® is the right solution for your system.

  5. How much is it for a plumber to unclog a toilet?

Answer: Even the most well-maintained toilets experience clogs. It’ll cost you an average of $200 to $700 to unclog your toilet. Severe clogs will require a more comprehensive repair method, so check with your local plumbing contractor to determine the best approach for unclogging your toilet.

  6. Is Liquid-Plumr®, or any other liquid drain cleaner, safe for septic systems?

Answer: Yes and no. Liquid-Plumr® and other drain cleaners are most effective when used sparingly (one to three times a year). Repeated use of liquid plumber on drains could deteriorate your pipes and cause more damage. If your pipes clog frequently, put down the liquid plumber and call your local plumbing contractor immediately.
