"I was very impressed with the work I had done and the price of the work I had done. Stuart came and took pictures of my attic and measured insulation I had in the attic. Told me how much insulation he suggested to blow in. When finished he had pics of finished product. He even sealed around electrical boxes, lights, bathroom fans and vent pipes. Three signs that you need crawl space insulation are drafts, high energy bills, and mold. Drafts can start in crawl spaces and cause hot or cold air to spread to the rest of your home through holes in the floors and walls. And even if your entire home is well-insulated, you can still feel an unchecked draft from your crawl space and in your utility bill. Uninsulated crawl spaces can let in air and moisture, and because they’re built directly on the ground and difficult to dry out, they are hotspots for mold and mildew.

Yes, you should add an insulative cover to outdoor water spigots in the winter for better protection against freezing. Make sure to use waterproof insulating material—something like a towel or old shirt can actually make the faucet more prone to freezing when the material soaks up rain or snow.

It’s technically possible to install loose-fill cellulose insulation without a blower, but it’s much more time-consuming, tedious, and dangerous. You’ll need to wear the proper protective coverings to handle the cellulose after it’s been doused in boric acid; use a shovel when you can to transport the material from the bag into the wall cavity.

That said, if you purchase cellulose materials at a home improvement store, ask if they rent out blowers for free or at a discounted rate. In many cases, if you buy the material from the store, they’ll rent out the blower at no extra cost.
