Painting over mold is not an effective solution and can actually make the problem worse. Instead, it traps moisture, which allows mold to grow and spread beneath the surface. The two most common paint types are latex-based paint and oil-based paint. Here are some of the most significant differences between the two:

Latex-based paint:
