"The technician was very thorough in checking to see if any subflooring had been damaged by the leak, and he explained in detail what needed to be done and gave me an estimate before starting work. I was very pleased by his solving the problem quickly. I was also pleased that the company contacted me about its plans and by the technician asking me if he could come earlier than he was scheduled as he had finished another job faster than expected. I really wanted my problem fixed quickly, so I was pleased by this request."

"Steve is amazing! Called me within minutes of submitting a request, even though he was not feeling well! Even remembered meeting me a year ago in passing... You just don't get that anymore from anyone! Then Melissa seconds later to schedule. Dave & Brandon were professional, knowledgeable, and on the spot! Don't know if you guys will see this... But thanks! Dean"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

AC drip pans last five to 20 years, depending on the material. Plastic AC drip pans last five to 10 years, while metal pans can last over 10 years. Plastic AC drip pans are vulnerable to cracking in response to temperature changes. Metal drip pans are prone to rusting over time, which can also lead to leaks.

High humidity is one of the most common reasons for air vents to sweat or produce condensation. When the cool, dry air from your HVAC unit meets warm and moist air in your home, it will cause condensation. Insulating your ductwork can help prevent this. If you live in a very humid region, a dehumidifier can also help.

You can air condition your Arizona room by extending your home’s existing HVAC system or adding a ductless mini-split system. Arizona rooms that have full windows rather than screens only are a better choice for air conditioning—screens will let the cold air out as fast as the air conditioner can make it.

When your AC contactor goes bad, you might hear chattering or buzzing noises coming from your air conditioner. You may also notice that your AC is running but isn’t cooling your home. In some cases, your air conditioner might not even turn on at all. There could also be physical damage, discoloration, or corrosion around the contactor.

If your drain line is clogged, your AC might stop cooling, shut down, or refuse to turn on at all. Otherwise, you might see your AC leaking water, find standing water or water damage near the unit, or notice a musty smell coming out of your air conditioner or vents.
