I just want to thank J & J heating. I really appreciate the compassion that you sent to me. Jared was great and very attentive. He went the extra mile and further diagnosed my problem even after the first technician said it was one thing he didn’t leave me without heat. He went the extra mile and made sure my heat was working properly before, he left my home. It was right on time then we got the temperature drop and I had heat that I didn’t have heat over the Christmas holiday. I want to thank him for not leaving me until he found the problem.❤️❤️❤️

I do not recommend using J & J Heating & Air Conditioning for any service. Short version is that the company does bad work, does not stand by their work, and cannot correctly diagnose the problem. They told us that if they had done this bad of an installation, they would cover the cost of repairs to fix the problem. When they found out that they were in fact the ones who had installed the unit so badly, they reneged on that promise and quoted us $1,200 to fix a suspected crack in the line, with no guarantee of finding it or that price being firm. The kicker is that the problem wasn't a crack in the line. The evaporator coils were bad, a problem if they had looked at them, they would have figured out immediately because they were already past their lifetime when the air conditioning unit had been installed. The company that did fix it actually looked at the whole system before jumping to conclusions and gave us a firm price and fixed it.

He put it in for us even though he didn't know what he was doing and he was good at it. He did very well. They were even cheaper for us, but I guess they said they only did it for us. They don't do that kind of stuff. They don't wanna be doing that.

I use them all the time.  They check out our furnace every year.  They're very good and I like their service. It's very good quality.  We like J & J and they know what they're doing and they tell you what you need.  They're very reliable and they're very punctual.  We like them very much.  They're very fair; they don't cost a lot.

Never returned phone calls, emails, texts, etc. had different employees out but never fixed problem and then gave up and never returned after numerous calls, emails, etc. this took place over 18 months of begging, arguing, pleading. These people are not worth the phone call!

After calling around Jand J was the only company who would work with our home owners insurance. The last time we had to work with a repair service and the insurance company it took a week. I was more than pleased that the tech assessed what needed to be fixed, called for approval from the insurance company and fixed the problem all in a few hours. We were out of town and had my father meet the tech at the house, but when the tech got there my father had not arrived yet. The tech was awesome about the delay!! It was all and quot;no problem, I'll just run to the gas station and grab something to drink.and quot; We have never had such a wonderful experience when having repairs done!! Thank you to J and J, our new go to company for our heating and air conditioning.

This guy didn't even have his own vacuum cleaner unit. He had to use ours instead. He left the furnace running, but it wouldn't turn because he readjusted some wiring. He didn't clean the furnace completely.

We called the owner to complain. The serviceman came back and refused to clean the furnace. He forced me to sign the work order. Once he left, we couldn't get the furnace to turn on at all. I would tell my friends and family members to stay away.

"In November 2011 we did go out to this client's vacant home in Wanatah . When our tech went to the home to clean the furnace he found a plugged up heat exchanger at the inducer motor and it was wore very thin all the way down. This meant that it would never vent properly. He shut off the power and the gas because it was not safe to use. There was also a bad propane regulator that had caused all of the problems. There was no sense in cleaning the unit since it needed to be replaced. The customer was upset that we would not rig the furnace some way that they could still run it. Our service tech refused to do it and that is when she called the owner, Denny. Denny Jorgensen tried to explain to her that he was just looking out for her and her family. The furnace was dangerous and he was not going to rig something up. That is when she told him that if he wasn’t going to turn her furnace back on that she would write on Angie’s list and other places give J& J Heating and Air Conditioning bad reviews because she does that to everyone. In reference to her statement “This guy didn't even have his own vacuum cleaner unit. He had to use ours instead”. The service tech did have his own vacuum cleaner but when he went out to get his the client said that her was sitting here there was no reason to go get his."

Denny came out with a quote after looking over the job with several options for us to choose from to fit our goals and budget. I was very pleased to have these options given to me and the chance to talk with him about them instead just having a number shot at us.
The guys did a great job. It has already paid for itself in fuel savings. There were a few problems getting it tweaked for our 1880's house. Denny was very responsive to us to make sure everything was 100% correct. Denny even came out to the house late one night (9/10 pm) to make sure things were working after we called him. We are planning to add central air and will use Jand J again.

In early spring I was on another service providers list to have my a/c annual check-up. Once the weather warmed up I never received a call to schedule an appointment. With that... I never followed-up. Then in late July I was hearing a foreign noise when the a/c would be running. I called Jand J Heating and Air Conditioning of Valparaiso early in the morning and a technician came to my house that afternoon. During this visit the technician diagnosed the problem and I paid for an annual check-up for the a/c and furnace. Within a few days I was contacted and informed that the part was under warranty and an appointment was scheduled about 10 days out (my choice). By the fourth day the unit sounded like a sonic airplane taking off. It was late Saturday evening and I called the answering service. The owner called me back and calmed me down and had the technician out to my house on Monday morning to replace the part. ...Being able to talk to the owner reminded me of an old fashioned business, where customers are first. The office staff is very polite and helpful and the technician was polite and knowledgeable. Completely satisfied with the way this business operates. Do call them!!

Because parts were needed after first visit a return visit was needed. The second visit was by a different technician than the first visit. During both visits I noted to technician that water stains were present indicating water leakage inside the furnace. The second visit by tech seemed to show on worksheet that he performed work already done by first technician, mainly all the checking activity. And, his hourly rate was different than the first technician's rate. ($78/hour vs $95/hour. Both visits were on weekdays). I faxed the owner with a request to explain all this, and after four days I still have not heard from him. Also, my records show that this company was at my home only seven months earlier to recharge and inspect the air condx. coils. Altogether, since October 2007 I have spent $543 with this company on my furnace/air conditioning. Lastly, the second visit (Jan. 20) was scheduled for 9:30 am, and when the technician didn't show up by 11:15 am, I called to learn that "they were running late". He showed up after 12 noon. My biggest problem is the unresponsiveness of the owner to my very detailed (and polite) fax inquiring as to the above points. I've attached the fax.
