"Dependable Glass Service provided excellent service at a reasonable price. They were incredibly fair and honest—what we initially thought were broken window balances simply needed to be reattached, and they took care of it without pushing unnecessary repairs. Their communication was clear and responsive, from providing the estimate to scheduling the work promptly once the glass arrived. I truly appreciated their professionalism and integrity. I would highly recommend Dependable Glass Service and would not hesitate to use them again in the future."

"They did an excellent job enclosing the front porch. My house is over 100 years old and the area was not exactly level or square but it came out beautifully! My cats love it out there! Jeff and Tony met with me to ask me exactly what I wanted it to look like. They even installed a wide ledge along the windows for my kitties to lounge on and watch the birds. It is the talk of the neighborhood and I am so happy with everything. Jeremy came and painted the living, dining room and a stairwell. He was very quick and got right down to work when he arrived to paint. It looks great!"

"We had such a wonderful experience with Tom and this company from start to finish. The team was fast, efficient, and extremely professional. They explained everything clearly, arrived on time, and treated our home with respect. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process—they kept us in the loop while we waited for the window to ship, which we really appreciated. The work was done quickly and with great attention to detail, and the pricing was very fair. We couldn’t be happier with the result and would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing window replacement."

Customers say: True professional

"He has installed a new storm door, weather strips on outside door bottoms, plus other misc. work.
The front door glass moulding project went well. It was winter so the outside could not be caulked and finish painted, but the inside could be calked and painted. He did the caulking, but did not want to paint as he said his finish painting was not that good. He said I should call his son (who I had previously used). As it happened, His son was not interested in that work. so I am still waiting for the work to be painted by another person. So I advise you to get the job description settled. The price was very fair for the work received; it is just that I thought he would proceed with the painting as he was being paid by the hour.

"I had to speak to at least 5 different people in the prosses and communication between them wasn't always accurate. Their suppliers caused delays, in particular the glass door. First instaler was very good but had to wait a month for the doors. Not happy with door, they seem fragile and hang very loose. Expected much better for $10'000. Don't have a good idea what to expect because each process ie: sales, measuring, 'dispachers , instalers, is a different person and start over with questions."

"I had an odd mixture of tasks--check on an exterior security light to see why it wasn't working, install railings and grab bars to help make my home more accessible, replace the glass in an old window (that had been broken since I moved in), fix the sash cords, and assemble several shelving units in my garage (and move some to the basement).   John listened to what I wanted and gave me options.  He was willing to tell me what to buy so I could save on costs; I was prepared to get some, but not all and he was okay about that..  The price listed is what I paid them (it does not include items I bought like a grab bar and the shelves).
He also was upfront about what he couldn't do (replace a missing muntin on a window).
I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they could come to give me an estimate and then schedule the work.  GIven the size of the job (and my past positive experience with them), I did not get multiple estimates.
Once here on the actual day, John worked quickly and efficiently.  There were no unexpected charges.
I will note that a coupon I found in a mailer insert was a better deal (as a repeat customer since I had used the company once in the past) than the Angie's list discount so I would advise people looking around.

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Generally, large bathroom mirrors that have been secured to the wall with glue require a multistep removal process. By taping the mirror with masking tape or duct tape, you can potentially prevent dangerous shards from falling as you loosen the mirror. A heat gun or other heat source may be needed to loosen up the glue before it can be freed using a wire saw. With glued-down mirrors being the most dangerous to remove, it's wise to hire a professional instead of handling glass on your own.

This can be a matter of personal preference, but a good rule of thumb is to center your bathroom mirror over the sink’s faucet. In some cases, if the sink is off-center in the vanity or  you have multiple sinks in the same vanity, you may find it more aesthetically pleasing to center the mirror over the vanity.

The cost of adding glass to your kitchen cabinet doors depends on the number of cabinets, type of glass, and labor costs. Glass typically costs between $5 to $20 per sheet and you can expect to purchase complementary hardware materials for $2 to $50 each. If you’re hiring a cabinet professional to install glass in your cabinet doors, ask them for a specific estimate before hiring.

Bathroom mirrors weigh between 6 and 13 pounds, depending on the size. A 16x20-inch mirror weighs 6 pounds, while a 24x36-inch bathroom mirror weighs 12.5 pounds. Large mirrors, such as a 30x40-inch mirror, weigh 46 pounds. When installing or hanging a bathroom mirror, have a neighbor or partner assist you in lifting and holding the mirror in place. A second set of eyes can also help ensure the mirror is centered and level.

Wall-to-wall mirrors have fallen out of popularity in recent years and have several drawbacks. They take up a lot of space, which can overwhelm small bathrooms. If you like the look, a wall of reflective medicine cabinets can add storage. Just keep in mind that a wall of mirrors requires more maintenance because smudges and splashes are more visible than on a wall.
