Professional chimney sweeping and fireplace repairs; chimney and masonry repairs of all kinds; reasonable prices for chimney sweepings and dryer vent cleanings; Charges by the job for major repairs.

"The work was delayed for one thing after another and the job has never been completed. NO work was ever carried out for the rebuilding of the brick courses on the fireplace chimney. The crown on the fireplace was never replaced per the contract, but left partially broken and cracked with water intrusion during the first winter after the supposed rebuild and liner installation. The stainless steel liner had to be "undersized" due to unforeseen issues once the work had been initiated. They charged a "research fee" to match / find the proper brick which they brought in less than a full pallet and far short to carry out the complete chimney rebuild. After being advised of the owners "back back after a fall" and the inability to finish the terms of the contract, I never heard from the owner again. She had no problem walking away with the deposit of $5,700 on a $11,900 contract, so I guess her back wasn't all that bad!"

Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges. Ask about Angie's List discount.

"Ted was excellent from beginning to end. He arrived early and/or on time for each of our meetings. I explained to him we wanted a custom bar with cabinets and drawers built into an alcove in our living room. I drew him a photo of exactly what we envisioned. Several weeks later, we had the exact cabinets from our drawing delivered to our home. Ted kept in touch during the cabinet making process and alerted us as soon as they were ready. I should mention we live in a century old house with uneven floors and walls. Ted expertly installed the cabinets...you don’t even notice that space is uneven! We are so happy with the work and price. Will absolutely hire again!"

At Custom Floors, we believe it is all about the experience. From your first visit through the design, budget, selection, and installation processes, it should be about enjoying the American dream of home ownership. Our facility in Fishers is 60,000 square feet of which 20,000 is devoted to the biggest and grandest selection in the state of Indiana. We also maintain a warehouse of over 70 slabs of granite, marble and quartz that can be viewed and selected on site, as well as a state of the art digital stone fabrication facility. Cost is determined by the job. Travel charges may apply over 40 miles. May contact through email. Additional contact: [email protected]

"My wife and I hired Custom Floor to complete a floor and countertop project in our newly purchased home. The scheduling and picking out of material went very well until it came time for install. The office staff did not communicate our requests to the installers at all. Throughout the project it was a disappointment. The install team was very nice and polite but were told very little of what they would be doing for us. So they came unprepared daily. At first they were told to go ahead and install our countertops without allowing my wife and I first to view the slabs (which should never happen). The salesman called back stating we should just "trust him" and have it installed anyway. We'll we didn't. Once we viewed the slab and OK'd it they installed and didn't round any corners. The installers then proceeded to argue with us, the customers, that no we never wanted them rounded from the beginning. Again, a breakdown in communication between those who took the order, and those doing the work. Next we called to follow up on when our backsplash was being installed and were told we never ordered one. My wife and I took pictures of the tile we wanted, countertops we wanted, AND backsplash we wanted all in the same day and submitted to the sales associate. WHO is standing in the very pictures from their store! You cannot say we never ordered backsplash when you are standing in the picture of the product I ordered. So, the backsplash install is pushed out due to this error. Next our floor for the upstairs was 'lost' and had to be special ordered and come in via train. Custom Floors stated they would install well before my movers were scheduled but they failed to follow up on when the install would happen until day of move. Mind you, the floor was supposed to be done by now and on the day when my movers are arriving we get a call that the floor would be installed that afternoon with no advance notice. Now that the work is done, we are unable to speak to any of the schedulers or sales associates as all internal associates on the project conveniently no longer work for Custom Floors anymore. The quality of the work the installers did was top notch, but these people need to get their act together in the office."

FAQs for fireplace service projects in Indianapolis, IN

The cost to convert a fireplace to gas is $3,000 on average. The typical cost range is $500 to $5,500, with cost factors like whether you need to install natural gas lines and the type of gas fireplace.

If you need to install a natural gas line, you’ll pay $200 to $1,000 on top of additional labor and material costs. Vented gas fireplaces are the most expensive type to install, averaging around $5,000. A more cost-effective option is a ventless gas fireplace, costing around $1,500 since they don’t vent to your home’s exterior.

The average cost to repair a fireplace is $575. You might pay anywhere from $95 to $2,500, depending on the severity of repairs and the type of fireplace. A typical repair of an igniter can range from $100 to $150. However, if you need to repair your mantel, expect the bill to be anywhere from $500 to $1,200. Wood fireplaces tend to cost more to repair due to specialized labor costs. Electric fireplaces tend to be the most cost-effective to repair, along with gas.

The cost to install a fireplace is $2,440 on average. This cost can range from $150 to $8,000 or more, depending on the type of fireplace, the materials used, and the size.

Electric fireplaces cost around $1,000 to install, and mostly only require wiring installation. Installing a wood fireplace from scratch could cost upwards of $10,000, depending on the foundation needed to support the weight of the fireplace. In addition, gas fireplaces can cost between $2,500 and $10,000.

The cost to remodel your fireplace is $1,200 on average. This cost can range from $400 to $2,000, depending on the extent of work needed.

If you add a hearth to your fireplace, you can expect to pay between $3 and $200 per square foot. However, if you're refacing your fireplace, the price tag will depend on your chosen materials. If choosing tile, you can pay between $1 and $50 per square foot, depending on the design. Stone is a more expensive material, averaging between $60 and $70 per square foot.

The average cost to remove a fireplace is $7,000 but can range from $4,000 to $10,000. Labor costs account for the majority of this price, which can range between $500 and $2,000. In addition, permits to remove a fireplace are typically needed, and these can cost anywhere from $100 to $1,000, depending on your location and city requirements. If you’re removing your fireplace due to issues like asbestos or damage, you will likely need to pay to rectify these problems along with the fireplace removal cost.
