We are a landscape design, installation, and grounds maintenance contractor located in the Greater Cincinnati area. We attribute our success to the high quality workmanship we present. Staying small scale has been our choice, therefore we can present the absolute highest quality work project after project, while staying competitive with pricing. We offer a range of outdoor services, and listed below is just a small list.

"Justin and his crew are superb! We have them twice a year, and sometimes more, for all of our mulching, pruning, weeding and edging work. They do such a beautiful job and get it done early in the season, early in the day. They are thorough and efficient. Once their job is done I feel like I can relax and enjoy my yard instead of seeing it as a burden."

"We needed to connect our patio to our deck stairs and lower concrete patio. We also had a steep slope we needed a stair-type solution to. Jake came out and went over the details with us. We decided to replace the current square concrete block patio under the pergola with a round paver patio that connected everything. Jake also recommended a large natural stone block stair to deal with the slope. After getting the estimate we were pleased and went ahead and paid the half up-front to get it on the books. They were able to start only a couple months later and spent a good week working on the project. The old patio was torn down and the blocks carefully stacked. Yard damage was minimized and a very nice patio and path was built. The initial stairs connecting to the concrete patio wasn't exactly what we wanted, and Jake had it rebuilt with no complaints and no additional cost. We are extremely pleased with how everything turned-out, and would definitely recommend them."

"It went really well! The tree crew who did the tree pruning did a wonderful job and they took down old, dead trees flawlessly - and completed the work in 1 day. We were very happy with the tree removal and pruning. The landscape crew was friendly, asked questions to clarify what we wanted, cleaned up and put away their tools each night. It was obvious they cared about the customer. A special shout out to Nate and Amanda in particular; they were nice and were great workers! First, a tremendous customer service story: Our front porch was rebuilt and replaced with Classicstone pavers, but the colors didn't match the colors we were shown and expected. We called as soon as we realized and insisted that they pull what they had just laid and re-install with a different color. The Wimberg designer, Julia, ensured that we the customer was satisfied, so she quickly provided us with actual pictures of three different pallets of pavers and allowed us to pick what we wanted (yes, she also gave a professional suggestion, too). The next day, the "bad" pavers were taken up and the "good" pavers re-installed! I was thoroughly impressed with the flexibility and the desire to satisfy the customer, even if it meant wasted time, effort and money that had to be re-done. I will be a lifetime customer - it reinforces why Wimberg has received the #1 landscaper award for the last several years. The rest of the job looks great, too! The selected boxwood shrubs and spruce trees look perfect - all similar shapes and sizes. The placing and positioning of new plantings followed our directions. As well, they nailed the final finishing touches: laying down a healthy amount of mulch, laying down seed and straw in the slightly damaged parts of the yard (even more than was expected), and cleaning up as if they'd never been there. We were very excited at the outcome and wholeheartedly recommend Wimberg. A couple footnotes worth mentioning: since they are in high demand, it may take some time to get to your job. Be patient and plan well in advance, they are worth the wait. Being a premium landscaper, they are not the cheapest; but if you're like me and willing to pay a premium price for premium quality and a high level of customer service, they are a great choice. It took a couple months from contract to scheduling, and all the jobs wrapped up within a 2-3 week timeframe. We were more than happy to wait until September for new plantings, so it worked out fine for us. We enjoy working with Julia; she is easy to work with and has a great customer-service orientation. She always responded promptly on nights and weekends to our emails, and followed through and did everything she said she would do. She is a huge asset to the Wimberg organization."

"On 5-8-21; a spring turn on was done. Total price paid was $485.38 for a new indoor controller 196.00), 3 station module (60.00), spring turn on charge (105.00)and a brass ball valve (41.20) along with 0.75 of man hours (60.00) which all was included in the final invoice. The controller was not programmed correctly and was running at all hours of the day. 9 sprinkler heads were still too low and were of no use. I scheduled a return visit to fix the above 2 problems. I was charged $81.83 total for the return visit. 9 PVC Risers (20.25) which I am in agreement is a proper charge. However, the 60.00 dollars per man hour work for a job that should have been done right the first time is gouging the customer. I paid the man hour charge the first time and do not feel it is fair business to charge this fee again due to paying the initial man hour fee the first time only to receive an improper programming & non placement of risers."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

You may need to lay sod on the areas you dug up once you get the okay from the contractor. It will take about 30 to 45 days for the sod to take root. Consult a local sod installer to get an accurate estimate of the timeline of your specific yard-enhancement project.

No, it's not a good idea to put grass seed directly on top of dead grass. For successful germination and growth, grass seed needs good soil contact. To prepare the area, start by removing the dead grass using a shovel or a sod cutter. Then, loosen the soil, add soil amendments if necessary, and spread the grass seed evenly. This allows the seed to come into direct contact with the soil, promoting better germination and establishing a healthier lawn.

Yes, you can DIY either core or liquid aeration for your lawn. You can use a manual core aerator or rent an automatic one. Just be sure to mark off yard obstacles like sprinkler heads before you start. Liquid aeration is easier—just hook up a garden pump sprayer, although some are able to be attached to a hose. While liquid aeration is not as laborious as core aeration, you will need to focus on an even distribution of the solution across your entire lawn for it to be effective. Of course, if you are unsure about doing both, call a pro.

Post-dethatching, lawn recovery includes watering, fertilizing, and reseeding as necessary to restore health and promote growth.

Many factors can cause your yard to have lawn depressions. Here are the most common reasons:

  • Heavy rainfall

  • Wild animals such as moles, voles, and groundhogs that burrow and tunnel

  • Poor drainage

  • Buried items such as pipes that break down

  • Decaying tree roots or stumps

  • Soil that has compacted

  • Improper mowing techniques

  • Driving heavy equipment and vehicles through the yard
