"Matt and Ben were AWESOME. We bought an old butchertown house from the 1800s, and they came out right away and evaluated the whole home for us.  In the end they determined that the existing spray foam was more than we needed (didn't even charge) and had a lot of recommendations for subcontractors that we did need for other projects.  Could not believe we found a contractor who didn't try to upsell us or rip us off.  I know friends that used them for spray foam and raved.  I cannot recommend them strongly enough.  "

"Insulated my attic with Owens-Corning R60 and I already can feel a big difference in the comfort of my home. Very reasonable price, considering the rising cost of insulation. Highly recommend this team!"

Small jobs welcome

"Good crew showed up on the day specified and worked very hard all day. I am glad I hired this out instead of doing it myself. They did much more than I would have done. The foamed filled the attic floor penetrations, opened the overhang soffits for proper airflow and built barriers between insulated and non-insulated areas. Spray foamed and roll insulated the vaulted ceiling gables. Happy with the work and the price. Their price for the insulation was cheaper than I could buy it."

"NOT TERMITES, but RACCOON LATRINE! The tech was GREAT; however, she checked with her regional manager and I would have to have the house rewired (some of it upstairs is tube and wire) before they could begin cleaning up the raccoon poop, etc., and then sanitize, and do insulation. p.s. Two other insulation companies, who wouldn't do the cleanup of raccoon poop, etc., would not do insulation unless the house was rewired."

"The crew doing the demo work and the finishing work did an excellent job in our home. The job took 8 days total with the amount of work that needed to be done. They listened to our needs, wants and were able to accommodate changes that we had along the way. I would recommend this crew to anyone and would hire them again as we have other projects in the future."

"Everything turned out very good. My blinds were put up incorrectly but he will fix it if I call him. They have done other painting services in the past and I have always been pleased. They are not cheap but they do a very good job. Everyone is very professional and very educated. They always show up on time."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

You can put certain types of plaster over other types, but doing so isn't always the best idea. For example, putting a coat of gypsum over lime plaster is possible, but doing so will limit the lime plaster's breathability and potentially affect its performance.

Since cement plaster tends to leave a textured surface, no matter how much you smooth it, some people prefer to use gypsum plaster as a topcoat over cement plaster, creating a smoother surface.

Yes, small, superficial cracks are normal as homes settle. Older homes have a higher chance of showing signs of settling through hairline cracks from temperature changes, moisture changes, and soil shifting. However, larger cracks, or discolored cracks from water damage, may signify a bigger problem that requires reparations and preventative measures.

Yes, walls on the top floor can be load-bearing if stacked on the floor’s foundation.

The easiest way to cut holes in drywall for electrical boxes is to use a spiral saw with a drywall router bit. Hang the drywall without cutting out a hole for the box, but make sure you measure and mark where the box is located on the wall. Once you screw in the drywall sheet, drill a small hole into the box void, insert the spiral saw bit, and move it around the edge of the box using the inside wall as a guide. You can also use an oscillating multi-tool with an electrical box cutout for fast, professional results.

You can paint over plaster, but repair any damage to the plaster first, or the paint will crack and bubble. You should also prepare the surface of the plaster to accept paint, which gives your paint job the best chance of looking good and lasting a long time. Before applying the color you want, apply a coat or two of primer. Additionally, use latex paint, and choose a latex paint with a satin finish for areas with dampness, like bathrooms.
