"I filled out a quote request online and received a call from Carlos the same day.  I scheduled an appointment and he came over and did an inspection, explained what needed to be done and sent me a quote later that day.  I originally thought I needed foam sprayed on the ceiling of the crawl space because the floor was so cold in my kitchen and living room.  There were also lots of drafts.  Carlos explained that we could go that route but the better option was to spray foam the walls and "seal" the crawl space.  This would 1) Warm the floor, 2)take care of the drafts and 3) increase the efficiency of my heat pump and water heater because the temperature in the crawl space would be higher therefore there would be less heat loss.  I scheduled the project on my day off and received a phone call that they were running just a little late and Carlos gave me a time he and the crew would be here.  They showed up at that time and got right to work.  Everyone was very professional and extremely curteous.  I could feel the difference in my kitchen floor as they began to spray the foam! After they were done, everything was cleaned up and the only thing that was left was a faint odor of the foam.  It smells kind of like dawn detergent and was gone within a couple of days.  The spray foam has definitely made a HUGE difference in the temperature of the floor.  It is no longer freezing cold.  It also took care of the drafts that were in the kitchen.  The best part is it took my energy use down 100 kw per day (with only a 2 degree difference from last year).  Definitely worth it!!!  I will use them again for the other side of my house and will eventually replace the regular insulation with foam in my attic."

"Insulated my attic with Owens-Corning R60 and I already can feel a big difference in the comfort of my home. Very reasonable price, considering the rising cost of insulation. Highly recommend this team!"

Small jobs welcome

"NOT TERMITES, but RACCOON LATRINE! The tech was GREAT; however, she checked with her regional manager and I would have to have the house rewired (some of it upstairs is tube and wire) before they could begin cleaning up the raccoon poop, etc., and then sanitize, and do insulation. p.s. Two other insulation companies, who wouldn't do the cleanup of raccoon poop, etc., would not do insulation unless the house was rewired."

"The crew doing the demo work and the finishing work did an excellent job in our home. The job took 8 days total with the amount of work that needed to be done. They listened to our needs, wants and were able to accommodate changes that we had along the way. I would recommend this crew to anyone and would hire them again as we have other projects in the future."

"Everyone we worked with was very professional. The salesman was very responsive when I had questions or concerns during the job. The crew knew what they were doing and did an excellent job. There was an area of rot under two windows that turned out to be a much bigger job to fix than was apparent from the surface. They did a great job replacing the underlying structure and shingles and installed flashing to prevent future problems. They also did a marvelous job of cleaning up all the debris. Windows were covered and the three colors were put on exactly as we wanted."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, walls on the top floor can be load-bearing if stacked on the floor’s foundation.

When sanding drywall mud, you’re going to create a very fine dust that may contain silica. Silica dust contains crystalline silica, which can cause long-term illnesses for people who inhale it in significant quantities. Wear a mask while sanding drywall. Then dampen a drywall sponge to wipe the dust off the drywall, helping to reduce the amount of dust that may become airborne.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

You should wait at least 24 hours for drywall mud to dry before sanding or applying another coat. However, the exact drying time depends on several factors, including the thickness of the application, room temperature, humidity, and the type of compound used. Thicker layers, or projects in high humidity, may require 48 hours or more. Lightweight compounds tend to dry faster than heavier, all-purpose ones. You'll know the mud is ready when it feels completely dry and firm to the touch and has changed to a consistent light color. Sanding too early can cause smudging or gouges, so patience is essential for a smooth finish.

If you already have plaster walls and ceilings, adding new plaster costs $2 to $10 per square foot. For an average-sized room, that would come out to $1,200 to $10,000. However, the cost to replace plaster with drywall is higher—running between $720 and $1,250 for a 10-by-8-foot wall or ceiling (not including drywall finishing).
