"Ryan was excellent. Hired him for multiple projects throughout our restaurant. Will be our main, go-to handyman for most of our need. His prices are extremely reasonable for the work he does. He is timely and efficient. And, he's a generally good guy. His work ethic and attention to detail are top notch. I wish I had photos of the plating and tiling he did for us, but trust me, the guy was great. Even with the high traffic areas he serviced, he came in early got the job done and was able to get everything to mostly set before we started using it, and over the course of a couple days, everything was dried and in place. Highly professional work"

"Great company! Hunter came in and looked at the project we needed done and gave an estimate in 15 minutes! He then sat us down with a bunch of photos of previous work he and his crew completed and we were sold! Offered large discounts compared to other contractors we got estimates from. His crew and him did our entire master bathroom in a week start to finish! It turned out better than I could have imagined! I highly recommend Indy aces construction! Thanks Hunter!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

New builds, remodels, and additions often necessitate professional framing expertise.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

Yes, professionals can install new frames, trim, and threshold adjustments for a complete finish.

The cost to convert a carport into a garage averages about $22,000, ranging from about $15,000 and $55,000. Additional cost factors to consider include size, time of year, and how much of the carport you can reuse. Other cost factors include the kinds and amounts of materials used, such as:

  • Add insulation: $1 per square foot

  • Add drywall: $1–$3 per square foot

  • Add window: $450–$2,000 per window

  • Add outlets: $75–$500

  • Add garage door: $250–$11,200

  • Enclose framing: $5–$13 per square foot

  • Replace roofing: $1,000–$2,000

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.
