"Kept me apprised of schedule and always stuck to it.  They stayed on it until it was done, and were very agreeable when  I came up with  changes along the way.And I have to add that Brent went way beyond the usual when he came out at midnight to free my cat,who had managed to get stuck behind the newly installed cabinets. Her hero!"

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"We have 20-year-old above-ground pool with steel walls, completely encircled by a deck. My wife noticed rust stains on one wall section. When I tried to do my own repairs on the wall, rust flaked off and the pool started leaking. It turns out that it was water trapped between the liner and pool wall that had been accumulating sitting there for years. We were concerned with the expense associated with any remedy (pool repair, removal, or replacement) due to the custom-built deck that completely surrounded it, making access very difficult. Those concerns paled in comparison, however, to our fear over the structural integrity of the pool and what would happen to our neighbor’s property if the weakened pool walls were to burst, sending a 16,000 gallon tidal wave their way. I called a couple of local pool dealers asking for recommendations for someone who could replace the 15 year-old liner and repair the pool wall at the same time. I was told in each case “You won’t find anyone who will touch that job. As soon as they see the rust, they’re done”. I was about to give up and refocus my search for a demolition contractor when I decided to try Angi’s List, pretty much as a last resort. Within 8 hours after filling out the form on my phone, I received an email and a text message from Tim Fowler at Aquatic Pools. From the outset, he was very professional, and contrary to what others had told me, he showed great confidence that this work was well within his experience and expertise. He came out to look at the situation and we discussed all remedies available to repair the damage and renovate the pool. He had several ideas and recommendations that would extend the life of the pool by several years, and more importantly let us sleep at night knowing it was once again structurally sound. Tim and his team showed up when they promised and were exceedingly efficient with their work. They explained the entire process every step of the way and did the work as if they were working on their own pool. In the end, they removed the old liner, sanded down the walls from the inside, and patched and reinforced the areas most affected by rust. They coated the entire inner wall with Rust-oleum, and installed a foam barrier all-around to provide additional protection for the new liner. They also installed additional floor padding, a foam cove to prevent wash-out, a heavy-duty 25-guage liner, a new skimmer, a new light, new gaskets and hardware. The pool literally looks brand new. This was a big job. The work wasn’t what I would call “cheap”, but certainly well worth the money paid. My Dad used to tell me that “You get what you pay for”, and he was right. In this case, I believe we got that and then some. I could not more strongly recommend Tim Fowler and Aquatic Pools for his honesty, work ethic, and integrity. He is a credit to Angi’s List and should serve as an example for other contractors to emulate."

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

Most people will opt to put their home sauna outside near a pool or on a screened-in porch so the heat doesn’t move into the rest of the house. If your house has enough room, you may choose to put it in a bathroom so you can shower right after.

The primary difference between a steam shower and a sauna is the type of heat they produce. A sauna generates dry heat using electricity, while a steam shower creates wet heat from steam, resulting in nearly 100% humidity. A steam shower typically replaces an existing shower, has an opening at the top, and operates at a lower temperature (around 90-120°F) than a sauna, though the high humidity can make it feel just as warm. It is advisable to limit steam sessions to 20 minutes. In contrast, a sauna is a fully enclosed space that can be placed anywhere in a house and produces dry heat.

It will take several hours or more to build a sauna. A prefab kit will take anywhere from three to 20 hours to install, depending on complexity and your skill level. If you’re doing a custom build, it can take more than 50 hours—especially if you need to add ventilation, ductwork, and other renovations.

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.
