We paid a deposit in 2016 for the job to start in Spring of 2017. They did not start until late summer 2017, after I called to complain. They took a long time in completing. There were entire weeks where they did not show up. Some days they only worked an hour. I paid $8000.00 for additional concrete. They drove their Bobcat over the corner and broke it off. Patched it. I had to pay for they electricians they hired (was not in the contract) electricians did a bad job. Constantly have electrical problems. They tore my yard up quite a bit and when I called to complain, they said I should have done it earlier. My pool DID NOT pass inspection and they never came back and corrected the problems. I would not hire them.

We went to their store/office in February 2013 and asked for a representative come to do a site evaluation and see exactly what was need and to complete an estimate.  We were told that wasn't necessary and to bring in the dimensions which we did.  We paid 1/2 up front and as agreed the other half upon completion.  In June the work was completed with lots of grief and the company wanting more money.  The workers who came out didn't even know it was a concrete pool, they had it down as fiberglass.  The Pool Man finally agreed to the payment per their estimate.  Last year a few tiles popped off so I used epoxy to attach them back.   This year about 2 dozen tile have fallen into the pool, are heaving out away from the pool wall and the grout is falling apart.  When I phoned the Pool Man Lisa Kane Owner's wife/Salesperson advised the cold winters make the tile fall off and that it was my problem.  She tried to pass the buck by trying to give me the adhesive & grout companies information to pursue their warranty information.  I requested they send someone to come out and to properly evaluate what the problem is and how to fix it.  I also advised that none of the tile below the water line were at issue.  Mrs. Kane advised hat this is their busy time of year which I agreed and I agreed to wait a week or two for them to schedule an appointment.  It is now 6 weeks and nothing!  I have also filed a complaint with the BBB.
All I would like to see is The Pool Man stand behind their work and products which appear to be inferior due to it's falling apart.

The contract was initated in July of 2013, The Pool Man began work in September/October of 2013 based on schedule. They were very profession and quick with the initial install.
While they were quick in the inital install the only complant was in the completion process. It took an additonal 6 months once the concrete was in for the Pool man to return and complete the backfill and lawn grade work. It was winter for most of those months so there was not a concern with completing it during that time. The concern was really in the past couple of months (warm weather) when we were told the Pool Man team would be at our home to complete the work, but never showed up. They have a very busy schedule, so if you are on their's please request constant communication and updates. My only recommendation to the Pool Man is to communicate better on progress and next steps. If you say your going to be there and cant make it, that is okay... Just call the customer and inform them why and what the newest scheduled date is.
The Pool Man is very professional and good at installing pools. I would recommend them to others.

After trying to clear up an algae problem through another local company, I turned to Pool Man for help, because I was tired of being talked down to when I would go in and ask for help or advice. Everyone at Pool Man is very friendly and helpful, they have excellent customer service. I felt like they answered all of my questions and even clarified to make sure I understood what I needed to do when I returned home. Cindy spoke to me on the phone the day before and told me what I needed to do until I could get a water sample into them. I really appreciate their personal touch. I feel it was completely worth it to make the trip across the river to
get professional, courteous and respectful customer service with results.
Since I have owned my home (4 yrs), Pool Man has opened and closed my pool each season and I have never had any problems. I highly recommend Pool Man for any of your pool needs.

My mother met the repairman, John, because of my work schedule. She had a wonderful experience through and through. We had 2 visits to have fixes made. They showed up at the time they said they would. He gave us a quote based on his first visit (had to order a part) and gave us a full idea of what might come after he had a chance to make the first repair. We had so many leaks, he spent a full 6 hours working on the tub. My mom said he was very efficient and prepared. She also said he was pleasant and a joy to work with. It's been over a week now, and the water line has stayed steady!!!! We've used it 3 times in the first week! Also of note, I did a lot of phone calls with john while waiting for parts to come in and they did a good job of keeping me up-to-date (especially during holiday season). I'll also say that the reason we hired the Pool Man was because our next-door neighbors had them install their custom pool and hot tub last summer. They raved about the results (which we have enjoyed ourselves a time or two, it's gorgeous!) and their dedication to giving them what they paid for. They came back out quickly whenever issues arose or questions were had. They complied with all our neighbors' specifications (and they admit there were many, they love customization). They did a wonderful job and continue to come out to open/close their pool. They also do a great job of analyzing their water and recommending water treatments as well. We are one happy street when it comes to the Pool Man.

Mike (proprietor) is absolutely dedicated to building the best quality product possible, and is as honest as the day is long. I couldn't be happier with the design or construction. When I heard the construction materials and methods used by Poolman I knew there was no need to look any farther. Poolman opens and closes the pool each year, and provides excellent service.

I use this company every year to open and close my pool! I also go into the store to check my pool chemicals and purchase chemicals! I am sooo pleased with their service. Over the summer, the day before my daughters birthday, my pool ;pump went out! I called the store and told them the situation and that day the man was there to fix the pump and he stayed for 3 hours in major heat! He wanted to make sure the new pump would be running smoothly for the party! I am very pleased with the service I receive from Lisa and the crew at The Pool Man!

I made the appr in february, 3 months in advance. I called the day before to confirm and had to leave a voicemail. I got a return call later in day to say they would be there next day with a phone call 1 hr before they would arrive. The next day came and I still had no phone call or anyone arrive so I called to check to see if they would still be coming. I was put on hold for approx 5 min and was told they would still be coming that day. I questioned it would be after 500pm and was told they sometimes work until 700pm. At 630pm still no call and no show. I called The Pool Man office at 700pm to get a recording they were closed at 630pm. I left a voicemail MSG and requested a call the next day for an explanation. At 730pm a man called to say he couldn't make it today, no kidding, and he would be there next day. When I said what time , he said they call 1 hr prior to arrival. Next day, no return call from service mgr and no call as of 200pm. I returned call to number from previous day and man said his supervisor, John, would be over to take care of my appt. when I asked when he said they would call. I was furious as I had taken a vacation day previous day and now another. I called The Pool Man main number and asked to speak to service mgr and was told she was off today!!, the busiest time of year. I asked to speak to whom ever is in charge of service and complaints. I was told I would be speaking to Lisa. I was put on hold yet again and a woman came on and rudly said they will be at your house today. When I asked whom was speaking, she replied Lisa. I asked of she was mgr in charge she VERY rudly replied "I am the wife of the owner!!". I told her my complete story which spoke over several times and raised her voice to me. When I said I had made an appt 3 months prior and would have at least expected a call to say they were late or not coming she said "you got your phone call didn't you!!". I said yes at 730pm. When I said I had taken a vacation day to be there she said you don't need to be there for us to open your pool I told her that was not what they were there to do. She continued to argue and speak over and rude to me. I told her I expected some sort of compensation or discount for my time wasted and she said for what??!! I told her being married to the owners certainly did not make her a customer service mgr. she calmed down when I said I would be posting on Angies List. After that call, 15 min later, John called and would be there in 15 min. John was very nice, did what I need done and confirmed that Lisa was rude to mostly everyone. My compensation was, they were there for 45 min and charged me for 30 min. Keep in mind they charge $100 per hr for service. Due to the horrible way the owners wife spoke to me, their inability to keep an appt and lack of professional communication, I would not ever use them again and would advise no one else to use them.
Response from Pool Man
"The Customer requested that we put him on the schedule for a sand change. Because of the nature of our work, we cannot guarantee a specific scheduled time of day. We do offer a 1 hour call-ahead, to let the homeowner know we are on our way. Because we are working outside, we do not require the homeowners to be present; we only ask that they make the pool accessible to us. We regret that the Customer chose to miss work for our services. During busy season, our service teams work well into the evening. On the original day the Customer service was scheduled, weather caused a delay in our schedule. Our crew got held up again when another service run took longer than anticipated. They called the Customer the moment they realized they would not be able to make it to service his pool that evening. We did go to the Customer’s pool the next day to complete the service requested. When the Customer called our retail store the following day, he was informed Jon would be there. The Customer then asked to speak with the service manager. The service manager was scheduled off that day, due to the fact that we only require our employees to work a total of 40 hours per week, including weekends (weekends are often scheduled during busy season). The Customer called back shortly thereafter, and spoke with Lisa, our general manager. Lisa told the Customer that Jon called once he realized that he couldn’t make it, and that he will be taking care of the sand change that day. Lisa apologized to the Customer, and arranged to reduce his bill by $129.37. This amount includes the service run fee and the remainder of the hourly service rate. The Customer was only responsible for $116.57, less than half of the original bill. We felt the issue was resolved, and regret the Customer’s unhappiness."

Response from Pool Man
"This dispute was the subject of litigation and experts were consulted. They concluded that The Pool Man had installed the pool properly and the problems here actually were caused by latent sub-surface shale deep below the pool. The Customer disagreed with these findings. We worked on several occasions with the Customer to study and to attempt to remedy the problems. Never in our 13 years of professional pool installation and service, have we experienced another situation like this one. While we were satisfied that our work for the Customer was in keeping with industry standards, we are never satisfied when any of our customers is unhappy—whatever the cause. For that reason—and that reason alone--we agreed to a compromise which, we understood, resolved this dispute. Again, we regret the Customer’s unhappiness."

They were wonderful. They were just really super nice and knew what they were doing. One man spoke only Spanish and the other guy spoke fluent English and Spanish. I enjoyed the whole time they were here. The job was excellent. I got a really good pool liner and it was the most expensive one they had.
