I'll try to load pictures but we are very happy with the final product.  We had a basic idea and budget that we wanted to spend and met with Brent to discuss ideas.  We decided to use a part of the existing deck, but mostly built with new materials.  As the project progressed we (my wife and I) made some scope changes.  Brent's pricing for these changes was reasonable and well explained.
The end result is great and I think that we will be very happy with the new bug free living space.
We have used Brent on several projects and have recommended him to friends.  We would not hesitate to hire him again and continue to recommend him for his work and pricing.

My wife is very happy with the results.  We talked with Brent about our ideas and he told us what would work within our budget.  We decided to use the existing door and door frame and have some minor cosmetic issue not he basement side of the door.  This saved us money and allowed us to move the fridge to the basement area, which opened up some more space in the kitchen.  It's been a few weeks and everything is working fine.

My wife and I had Brent build a shed for us.  His pricing was fair and I'm very happy with the quality of construction.  Brent was easy to work with and did a great job matching the shed with the house design.  Property was cleaned up when the job was completed.

Brent and his crew were very punctual and always stayed in contact if there was any change to his plans. They worked in very unfavorable weather as they had to cut the framing and tile out side in frigid and snowy weather. Brent was always available if I had questions and he always consulted me before doing anything outside of what we first agreed upon. During the remodel process we had difficulty with the supplier of the vanity and had to return 2 before one was shipped that was acceptable. Brent was very patient with us as this held him up from finishing the job as he had planned. During the remodel I had planned to paint and do the vanity install myself but Brent quoted me a price for turn key that was very reasonable. The bathroom looks great and I did not have to lift a finger. I would recommend Brent and have already told him I will be contacting him in the near future for more of his services.

We wanted to have our basement finished before the holidays and started in august getting estimates. I was quickly discouraged when we received 3 estimates from 3 General  contractors that we found through the better business bureau website. Their estimates ranged from 25,000.00 all the way to 37,000.00. Our idea of finishing our basement was quickly shot down. In october I was referred to Brent and his guys by a neighbor that had recently had a bathroom remodeled. She told me that they to had recieved several high estimates and Brent was able to complete the job for much less and his work quality was phenomenal. After looking at their bathroom I felt very good about meeting and getting a price from Brent. They gave us an estimate or a not to exceed price of 18,500.00 and we hired them. These men did a fantastic job and their  work ethic was unbelievable. They did everything they said they would do and at the price they said they would do it for. I am thankful to have found these guys and hope my review can allow other people to do the same

"Another top quality job done at an unbeatable price. This job is just more proof that with the right people in place and some hard work you can provide a great basement finish within a designated budget and not have to sacrifice quality to do so. Its all about having the right people doing the work."

"A top quality job, done for a great customer, at a good price. Everybody Happy Happy Happy................. It is very refreshing to be providing top quality work to appreciative customers again.I personally made a severe business mistake by doing the coupon deal that my company suffered several negative reviews over. I would like to use this review, along with many others to show my readers one thing. Anytime A client contracts myself and/or my company to provide a service they will receive a top quality job at a great and fair price."

The gentleman were friendly, however, it took several weeks before they came to do the original estimate. They stated the response to the big deal was more than anticipated. Then it was a couple more weeks before work began, then we we were told they would return by the end of the week to finish, it was yet another week which then had to have another follow up visit. They apologized and said we deserved a refund, but we didn't know who to contact. All in all there was maybe a total of 2-2 1/2 hours they were in our house between all visits.

"I agree with this customer This job did take took long to complete. It was a very simple drywall repair job.I am suprised he gave us a D considering circumstances and the quality job we did. I subcontracted a drywall guy to start an complete this job.He started the job with me and when I attempted to schedule him to finish the job, he could not be there. After 2 weeks of scheduling conflicts.I went over on a Sunday and completed the work myself. The work that was done was quality work but this customer is correct we took entirely to long start and finish. For the record this drywall guy no longer works for me. I also told the customer I would refund his 199.00 for the coupon. The bottom Line is D- or A+ in responsivness We had a snag in this job as some jobs do and although it took an extra week then originally planned I saw to it this customer got a quality job done and completed for a phenominal Price."

They did a pretty good job and were fine.  Scheduling went smoothly. I would consider using their service again if they offered another Big Deal.

"These customers had a resonable amount of work they wanted done for the coupon they had purchased. We did the work accordingly for the coupon only. This is how all the coupon jobs should go... A resonable amout of contract work done properly by a good contractor at a great price. I believe we even worked an hour or so over and I did not give them a bill because their work amount was reasonable. I have unfortunately suffered some poor reviews due to coupon purchasers having an unreasonable amount work to be done for the coupon. Thank you for your business and you guys were very nice to work for."

"This customer was another coupon purchaser. Their job was a great deal more then the value of the coupon. I gave them my estimate and told them I would take the money they paid for the coupon off their bill. I did exactly that. We gave them a perfectly finished bathroom and closet and at a good price. They were happy and we were happy.Very pleasant people to be around."

Brent came to the house to see what I wanted done - replace a strip of damaged gutter on shed & minor drywall repair in laundry room.  I also asked him to price replacing a door going from kitchen to garage. I knew this would be separate from the Angie's List Big Deal. He called a day later to tell me the door project would be $600 plus materials ( door $180?). He did not provide a written estimate. When he called to schedule the Big Deal jobs I told him I had someone else who would do that job for less, but come do the gutter & drywall. He came 3 times with a helper for no more then 15-30 minutes each time. On the last day he handed me a bill for $375.; $125 in materials & $250 in labor!  I had already paid $199 for 6 hours and I didn't feel they had even used that up but was satisfied with his work. I asked what the additional $250 labor was for and he said 'the dry wall repair' . I was shocked! He knew I expected the gutter & drywall would be part of the Big Deal $199.  He said No, the drywall repair was part of the $600 estimate he gave me over the phone. As we had no written estimate it was obviously a miscommunication. When I questioned that the $250 seemed excessive and that they were only at my house for 3 hours max, he said he had drive time for picking up materials, etc that was part of the 'labor' costs. He is the first contractor/ repairman who has EVER said they charge for drive time. He became very argumentative, followed me into another room of my home & kept belittling me saying 'you Angies List  people....' ' you live in a house like this and expect....' & other unprofessional comments. I told him I would pay him for materials but would need to talk with my husband about the additional $250.  My husband of course agreed with me & felt the $250 was excessive. We asked his brother who is an electrician and he agreed. We have not paid Ladegast any additional money, but the check for materials has been cashed.  Mr. Ladegast has had issues with other people who have purchased Angie's List Big Deals. My suggestion for him would be 1. Invest in a computer & printer and give written estimates- that should eliminate miscommunications in the future. 2. Stop putting his services on Angie's List - he obviously feels he is taken advantage of by these customers...and they most definitely will be 1 time customers based on my experience.
Response from LADEGAST SKILLED TRADES
"I feel that I was taken advantage of because we didnt have it in writing. As yes after this job, I have and will always have it in writing even if im changing a light bulb. I gave a very reasonable price of 600.00 materials included-to rework the garage door jamb, install a new door, and patch several holes, sand, and finish the drywall in a large washer dryer room (600.00 for BOTH jobs). I told customer we would tear down the 30foot old gutter and install a new 30foot gutter with 2 down spounts for the coupon she purchsed of (199.00 Customer buys materials). Customer said she would have someone else install the door and we were to do the drywall and the gutter. Our work was done professionally and we provided the best materials.Meaning instead of doing a gutter patch job which she had suggested, I had a seemless 30' gutter special ordered and installed it. I was prompt and professional with this woman. Total time invested in whole job was 6 hours (3 seperate trips). The coupon is for 2 men 3 hours. Our price was right, fair and honest and she did not pay us the additional 250.00 in Labor for the drywall work. She gave me a check of 125.00 for gutter materials. So not only did she not pay me for a well done job she gives me a terrible review. You are either a good contractor or your not. We did a top quality job for this woman and she stiffed me on the bill. I will say this again I have yet to have a bad experience or review with a customer other than the coupon people. To my readers, you can not work for the top rated contractors I do work for, have the references that I have, present the job photos I have (all of which is work I personally did with help) and not be a top quality contractor. I take alot of pride in my work and provide the best work at a reasonable and honest price...... And experiences with people like this are just making me a better business man in which I will admit I can always improve on."

"What this customer doesnt tell you is that the house is 80 years old. The 1 door was 50 years old and the door hardware was 100 years old, Or the hack job that was done by the contractor he had in there before me. Any good contractor knows that everything has to be perfect in order for door to close and operate perfectly.Everything in that house is out of square and unlevel. I came over on a sunday and gave this customer what he asked for.And that was to hang two doors, and make to make an existing opening a doorway for a coupon he bought for 199.00. In all reality I know what he wanted. The same thing most (not all) of the customers that I have encoutered with the angies list coupon wanted. To Tear out the old and then rebuild it right using the top quality materials I usually buy, have the drywall patched and refinished,re-do all of the trim, and then install the doors the right way(which I always do).The only problem is, They want all the work done for 199.00. Its impossible. This customer wanted a quick fix with an imperfect structer and old and imperfect material. I came over on a sunday to do that for him at a great price. And because I didnt do a 750.00 job for the coupon he purchased,I pay for it anyway on angieslist. LOOSE LOOSE For the contractor.Never once did this customer call me or even tell me his was displeased. Not to mention I told the customer that in order for the doors to be perfect we would need to do the services I mentioned above. You can look at my work photos and tell I am a very talented and detailed contractor.I just cant win with these coupon customers and I believe I know why. You can not coupon top quality work, and from now on I learned my lesson from this review. If I cant do the job the right way at the appropriated price then I will not do the job."

Brent Ladegast worked in our home as part of the team of another contractor.  He did all of the demo, framing, electrical, window installation, trim carpentry, siding work, etc.  I have never seen anyone work so hard and so efficiently as Brent.  He is skilled and knowledgeable in all of his trades and does everything quite well.  He manages his team of helpers, his time and his plan of action with such efficiency that we are amazed just watching it all take place!  This man is one of the hardest workers I have ever seen.  He knows his business as well and does an excellent job with framing, gorgeous trim work, window installation, and electrical.
Thank you, Brent Ladegast for a job well done and for our beautiful bathroom.

Brent reviewed the job on Sunday 9/8 and discussed the repair work on basement window replacement and other window projects. He expressed his confidence in performing this job superbly and also to complete other projects in the allotted time. He came out on 9/9 to do the work with his helper but was not able to adequately complete the job in a skilled manner since, as he stated to me, it was more challenging and required better materials and expertise than he could provide. I asked that he stop the work so that the window could be replaced by a window installation professional. Brent advised me to pay him for the materials only and request a refund since the labor was not up to par with what was paid for and expected.
Response from LADEGAST SKILLED TRADES
"These customers were very nice people. It is very hard to install windows and doors for the price of coupon that is purchased from angies list. Although I did install the window that the customer bought according to the manufactures specifications, It was not what the customer had wanted. I told the customer the window they wanted would have to be installed by a professional window installer. I did tell the customer they could refund him coupon due to the fact he was not happy with the job. Customer did pay me for my materials. I only wish I would have known what the customer expected before I spent a day with 2 men installing the window he bought for me to install."

We recieved an email from angies list about a promotional big deal that had Brent and his company advertised. The deal was 6 man hours for 199.00. We had used Brent in the past on our old house to get it ready to sell. I called Brent and asked him if he could get over to see us to do some minor repairs for the coupon price. He let us know he was extremely busy and would have to see how his scheduled looked and would give us a call back. I knew first hand these guys quality of work and I thought  It would take forever to get them out here, especially at the price that was advertised. Anyway Brent called me on wed. and told us he had a client reschedule and could be there Thursday to take care of us. Take care of us he did. He completed everything we had asked of him and when the time had gone about and hour over the coupon deal he told us not to worry about the extra hour.He said we were repeat customers and that he was there to earn our business not our money. It felt really good to know that not everyone is out there to take you to the bank especially when it comes to contractors. We will use Brent for all of our future prodjects there is no need to call anyone else.

Brent and his team did a great job on finishing up my basement remodel that I was tired of working on....came out quickly to do the quote, we settled on a price, and work began a few days later. He gave an accurate quote and came in right where he said he would on labor + materials! His patience in the finishing details was superb and I couldn't be happier! He gave me plenty of tips on framing and drywall and showed me areas I could've improved on (we did the framing/drywall ourselves.) He fixed all our mistakes. Also, he was very responsive to phone calls and kept me up to date daily on arrival times, what he was going to finish that day, and what time he would be leaving.... After a short renovation break I will have him back to do more around my house, most definitely!!!

This company should never have accepted to do this work on Angie's List.
When Brent first came out to give me a 'quote' I initially wanted a hole fixed in the wall (from a water pipe leak) and the wallpaper taken down and get the walls ready for paint.  He informed me it would cost an additional $400 to fix the hole in the wall.  I said ok, don't do the hole, just get the wallpaper off and get the walls ready for painting.  I asked him to do the work the following Friday, but he said he wanted to do earlier in the week so I agreed to Tuesday as early as they could get here.  He called on Monday and said they would be here at 9:30 a.m.  He called 4 different times to get coupon number, etc. and just didn't seem to have it together.  I should have known then and asked Angies List for my money back.
I took the day off from work to be at the house on Tuesday while the work was performed.  He called at 9:15 and said they were running late because of another job and would be here at 10:30-11:00.  AT 12:30 two guys showed up and got to work.  They did not cover the floors; they had no broom or trash bags for the wallpaper mess, and no ladder to reach the higher part of the walls.  They apologized for not coming prepared.  At one point, my husband overheard one of them say, this is not a 2 person job as there isn't room for both of them to work in the confined space.  So basically one stood around while the other worked.  Brent came in around 4:00 and proceeded to tell me that they had the wallpaper down but the walls were a mess.  He said if I wanted them to get the walls ready for painting, I could 'hire' them to do the additional work. I said that was supposed to be part of the deal for $199 and he called me a liar.   My bathroom is now a complete mess and Brent was VERY unprofessional.  Even said that I owed him money because he had two workers there for more than 3 hours.  He called me 'cheap' for using a coupon.  It ended up a screaming match and I told him to get out of my house.  DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!  HE HAS NO BUSINESS ON ANGIE'S LIST.
As a follow-up - Brent did call back after the work and offer to "make it right".  We responded "thanks but no thanks".  This contractor may be very good if he's being paid full price but I wouldn't recommend using the coupon deal as I really didn't get what I paid for.  If you do use the coupon, be sure to get "in writing" what they agree to do for the coupon amount.
Response from LADEGAST SKILLED TRADES
"I informed [member name removed] at the time of the estimate that I could only remove the wallpaper in the bathroom for the coupon price which is( 6 man hours for 199.00) that is purchased on angies list. I made her very aware that there will be drywall issues when you remove old wallpaper not to mention there were 2 layers. I gave her a price of 400.00 additional dollars to fix all the drywall issues. She told me she only wanted to use the 199.00 coupon that she purchased from angies list.I tried to do the right thing and honor the coupon she purchased. So I sent 2 men there for 5 hours and they removed all the wallpaper to the last tiny piece.I asked [member name removed] again if she wanted to hire us to fix the drywall issues and she replied that the drywall work should be done for the 199.00 price of the coupon. [member name removed] wanted a 2 day job for 199.00. We did the agreed upon work and offerered proffesional drywall services at a great price. To any future customers that read [member name removed] reveiw please take the time to check out my actual customers that hire and have hired me to provide top quality work at an affordable price, not the coupon lady that wanted something for nothing."
