"Mike and Juan did an excellent job for me. Not only did they fix some trim that I needed, but they painted my house, and repaired an old porch. I am extremely happy with the work, and plan to use them on future projects at my house."

"If you want a reliable, hard working, honest team to do your fence work, hire this company. They partially replaced my 25 yr old wood fence and saved what was still good. Steve, the owner worked every day w his team. They did a fantastic job. He is great w communicating and clean up. I’ll be having him back in spring for repairs on my wood deck."

"After the original work on the roof leak, wall repair and putting down a floor Steve agreed to work on the deck. Put a gate on the old entry & stairs and then put in a new stairs on the back of the deck. Great job! Steve's crew also took out lots of voluntary growth that had turned into trees. I am so appreciative of the work Crest Mark did as I keep adding on the tasks I needed done!"

Customers say: Quality work

"He did a terrific job demolishing and rebuilding the old deck â quality work. He even finished the job early â 3 days instead of 4-5. He is also easy to reach if you have questions. When he came out for the initial consultation I told him I was also looking for someone to power wash my house and he said he does that too. So, I hired him to do that also. Iâ ve hired him to come back in about a month to stain the new deck. I highly recommend him."

"We love our deck extension! They were able to add on to our existing deck and took on a huge project to extend it 50ft across! Carmel had a bunch of extra requirements but eventually we got the permit with extra additions and Maynor himself did a great job handling the changes and keeping us in the loop! Not only do we love the deck, but the work is high quality and they are all very hardworking individuals! We would definitely use them again and definitely recommend them!"

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, deck footings typically require an inspection before laying down concrete. While not all local building codes require footing inspection, proper placement ensures a safe and structurally sound deck. An inspector will verify that the deck can adequately hold what you put on top of it., and that the footings have been dug to the correct dimensions.

Your deck may pop, and your neighbor’s deck may not for a number of reasons. Whether or not a deck pops will depend on how it was made, the conditions it’s exposed to, and the materials. Improper spacing is a common reason for increased pressure between deck boards. Moisture penetration is another.

The “best” material is in the eye of the beholder, as each common decking material boasts its pros and cons. Poured concrete is the best budget-friendly option, but composite wood brings high-grade aesthetics without breaking the bank. Wood is the most traditional material, but it requires more maintenance than some other materials. In other words, do your research before settling on a deck material to find the one that’s best for your pool.

No, you don’t need a permit to repair and replace a few boards on an existing deck. However, if you’re making structural changes to the deck or tearing down the old one and building a new one, you will likely need a permit. Check with your local municipality for the regulations and rules in your area, or ask a local contractor who builds decks for advice.

No. In most cases, it’s not colder or freezing temperatures that affect decking materials but the amount of moisture that seeps into the materials as a result. For example, wood decking material is more likely to suffer from rot or decay when exposed to excess moisture from snow or ice. An extreme change in temperature can cause wood to expand or contract, but only if it’s not properly treated beforehand.
