"The equipment was delivered promptly, and the installers arrived shortly after. Chris Hardin and Anthony were the installers. They were very experienced, well trained, knowledgeable, and did top quality work. Both were polite, personable, and treated me with respect. I tend to be a perfectionist and must say if I would have had the skills to do this job myself, I could not have done any better. I have never seen such good quality for any heating and air conditioner replacement in other homes I have owned. In addition to replacing the furnace and air conditioner units, some other items that were replaced were: suction and liquid lines, the exterior breaker box, condenser pad, furnace vent, insert in the vent going up the chimney, and the condensation pump and hose. The old furnace was situated such that there was not much room to change the air filter and perform maintenance. The new furnace was repositioned to eliminate that problem. This involved rerouting the electrical cable to the furnace switch and partially extending the gas line. My previous coil was never a tight fit over the furnace and therefore, cool and warm air escaped. Special care was taken to tightly mount the new coil and thoroughly seal it with silicone. Some insulation was even used around ducts nearby. All the old equipment, including the condenser pad, was hauled away. The work area was cleaned up well after completion."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Corydon, making electrical projects safer for families means installing tamper-resistant outlets and GFCI outlets, especially in older homes with original wiring. Consider upgrading to AFCI breakers to reduce fire risks, and use cord management solutions to keep wires out of reach. For homes with basements, ensure sump pump outlets are protected. Regularly check outlet covers and test safety devices to maintain electrical safety throughout your home.

Helpful?

After electrical work in Corydon, keep all permits and inspection records for your files. Notify your home insurance provider about major electrical upgrades and register any warranties for new panels or fixtures. Test GFCI and AFCI devices monthly, especially in high-moisture areas like basements. Scheduling annual electrical safety checks is recommended, particularly for older homes, to ensure continued compliance and reliable electrical safety.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Corydon should start with a thorough electrical panel inspection to assess if a panel upgrade is needed, especially in historic properties. Prioritize adding GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and basements, and install hardwired smoke detectors for code compliance. Improving basement lighting and adding outdoor security lighting are smart upgrades. Consider dedicated circuits for appliances and whole-house surge protection to safeguard your home wiring.

Helpful?

In Corydon, it’s wise to schedule electrical work if your home has frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, or warm outlets. Watch for outdated two-prong outlets, aluminum wiring, or if you’re relying on extension cords in living spaces. Homes built before 1970 or with unfinished basements often need electrical safety updates. If GFCI outlets fail to reset, a professional inspection can help prevent larger home wiring issues.

Helpful?

In Corydon, main electrical panels, basement wiring, and kitchen circuits often require attention as homes age. Bathroom outlets may need GFCI upgrades due to moisture, while outdoor wiring can deteriorate from seasonal weather. Attic wiring is vulnerable to heat and humidity. If your home has knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, or an undersized service panel, these areas should be prioritized for electrical safety improvements and home wiring updates.
