"Dan with Jimdandi Painting was very knowledgeable and does Grade A+++ work. My garage floor was absolutely a mess with oil and all kinds of different stains. He was able to clean the floor and make repairs. The finish turned out great. It looks like a showroom floor now.
After he did my garage floor I knew I wanted him to do work inside my house. He helped me with color combos to get the effect I was looking for.  This room I spend the most time in watching games and I couldn't have asked for a better turn out. This room had some drywall repairs that were needed and a lot of sanding. He was very professional in making sure to keep the dust level down.
He also did my three bed rooms and the closet in my master bedroom. The master bedroom closet was left with a lot of unfinished wood and had a funny smell. He was able to get rid of the smell and give a nice finish to the closet. The last room I had painted was my living room. I had two colors picked out that I hadn't decided on in which he suggested an accent wall.
All my rooms turned out perfect. He was professional and all work was done in a timely manner. I would suggest using Jimdandi painting. I will be looking to get the outside of my house done in the spring time."

"They showed up on time, did an amazing job. They also power washed, stained and seal coated my deck and floor of my gazebo. They cleaned up thoroughly at the end of everyday! Danny and his brother and helper honored the estimate they gave us last year... they also warranty their work and gave us a copy. I would highly recommend them to others and cannot say enough good things about them."

"

I contacted Dennie regarding the repair and he came out the same day to see what needed to be done. He assured me that it could be repaired and repainted and re-textured back to it's original condition. He worked around my schedule. He did the patch one day and then returned the next day to introduce his employee and brief him on the project. Horatio painted the entire section of wall affected ( so that the paint would match).. Per my request, I also had Horatio paint some window trim that had needed a touch up. Dennie charged me a nominal amount. Horatio did a terrific job on both of the painting projects. Dennie's drywall repair was perfect. No one will ever know that the drywall had even been damaged! Dennie returned later in the day to check Horatio's work and to collect payment. Dennie was so friendly...as was Horatio...! I would definitely recommend him again...although I hope I do not  have any more drywall holes in my future!

"We have been homeowners for 40 years and this was probably the best service we have received as homeowners. Their work involved prep and painting on a three story house. They also worked on three different deck areas. They completed all of the items in the contract and also replaced some rotted wood at the top of our house which was discovered by the workers on the roof. We had some questions during the six day process and they were addressed immediately by the owner of the business. Their work on our house was outstanding. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend C & Z Painting."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

A properly applied coat of stain will last between 3 and 8 years, depending on your climate. If you live in a place where your fence experiences a lot of moisture or high heat, your stain will last for a shorter period than in more temperate conditions. We recommend reapplying stain every 3 to 5 years to keep your wood in good condition.

For homes in areas with extreme weather, high heat, or intense sun exposure, high-quality acrylic paint is the best option. Acrylic paint is durable, resistant to both heat and cold, and provides a protective barrier with excellent UV resistance. For best results, look for acrylics that contain natural earth pigments, which are better suited for resisting sun damage. While oil-based paint is also durable, it can be prone to fading in high heat and can become too viscous to apply easily in cold temperatures. Additionally, choosing a neutral or light color like gray, beige, or white can help, as these colors absorb less heat than darker shades.

Two coats of stain are ideal for the best protection and aesthetic appeal. However, if your decking is made of particularly dense hardwood, you may only need one coat. If you want an intense color, two coats are ideal.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.
