"

Colin knows what he is doing! He and his employees worked hard to make our yard look fantastic. We had an issue where one of the employees did do some damage to our AC unit. I called Colin and he took responsibility and made things right. I purposely waited a year to write this review because I wanted to see how our investment would turn out and it really looks beautiful. Colin and his secretary were communicative and delivered on their promised. The issue we had was handled in a timely fashion acted in a manner which made me want to hire him again. I really appreciate his insight, his hard work and the improvement his work made on the look of our yard.... literally a night and day difference.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical projects in Columbus, use copper wiring for new installations, as it handles temperature changes well. Choose weather-resistant GFCI outlets with protective covers for outdoor use. Corrosion-resistant fixtures, such as those made from stainless steel or treated aluminum, are ideal for damp areas. Whole-house surge protectors are recommended due to frequent storms, and all components should be rated for local climate conditions.

Helpful?

In Columbus, electrical panels in basements often need upgrades due to moisture and age. Outdoor outlets and lighting are exposed to the elements and may require weatherproofing. Kitchens and bathrooms in older homes may lack GFCI outlets, which are now standard for safety. Utility rooms and sump pump circuits in basements are also prone to wear, especially in neighborhoods with higher groundwater levels.

Helpful?

Upgrading electrical systems in Columbus—like installing modern panels, adding GFCI or AFCI protection, or updating kitchen circuits—can make your home more appealing to buyers. These improvements are especially valuable in older neighborhoods and may be required for insurance or financing. Ensuring work is permitted and professionally installed helps your upgrades stand out during resale and signals a well-maintained, safe home.

Helpful?

Columbus experiences humid summers and cold winters, which can accelerate corrosion in electrical panels and outdoor fixtures. Heavy rain and frequent storms often lead to power surges, making surge protection especially important for local homes. Seasonal temperature swings can cause wiring to expand and contract, so regular inspections are recommended to catch issues early. Homes with older outdoor wiring are particularly vulnerable to weather-related wear.

Helpful?

If you notice flickering lights in multiple rooms, persistent burning odors, warm or discolored outlets, or circuit breakers that frequently trip, it’s likely time to call an electrical contractor in Columbus. For homes built before 1970, outdated wiring is a common issue. If only one fixture acts up or a single appliance fails, the problem may be isolated to that device rather than your home’s electrical system.
