Customers say: Quick response

"Had them cut our lawn while my husband was ill for about 5 months. Well done lawn mowing with 3-4 guys. One guy weed whacked and trimmed, another blow grass clippings and did clean-up and 2 guys cut the lawn on riding mowers. Very reasonably priced and the owner Abel was always available by phone if I needed to talk to him. Great value for the money. Will hire again."

"Fantastic! Steve arrived with an army around 1030A and were done by 5P. The reorganized garden delighted my wife and the tomato plants are in the ground. We have new lawn in place of our old second flower garden disaster. The cleanup was amazing. Thorough and spotless. Well worth the money. They are truly knowledgeable professionals."

"Excellent work. My front yard looks amazing! The owner is very knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have. He will also check on your lawn after the sod is installed and give you pointers on watering, when to mow, etc."

"I have used Brian Jones and the Scenic Green group for several years. They have always trimmed my bushes and trees, mulched the beds around my home, planted bushes and trees, added needed top soil, and today, they began mowing my lawn for the first time. I am VERY PLEASED with the work they have done, and this is the reason why I added the lawn mowing to the list of outdoor jobs I have asked them to do for me. They are polite and friendly, and very hard working. They are just great guys, and I consider myself fortunate to have them caring for my home.

Small jobs welcome

"Hector and team removed a dead tree, removed two old and planted three new bushes, and trimmed several yew bushes. Also, they aerated the lawn. They did a very good job. Hector himself had impressive attention to detail and took pride and patience in sculpting the yews, which look great."

Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

If you're already planning to hire an electrician and you know that you'll get billed the minimum call-out charge, you might as well make the most of it by having the contractor do another small job like replacing a light switch or electrical outlet. Even if you're paying for a new coaxial outlet, which costs several hours in labor, you may be able to save a little or maximize value by getting them to do other related jobs. For example, if you're having a coaxial cable moved, it's worth checking if you also need another electrical outlet in the new location or considering where else you would benefit from a new outlet . The cost to install an electrical outlet is around $200.

Longer lengths are always better for striping, so mowing your grass to between 2½ to 4 inches tall. More length allows for optimal bendiness, plus it helps your lawn stay healthier, too. Remember, never mow more than ⅓ of the grass height at once to keep your lawn looking green and healthy.

Yes, it's common for lawns to look bare after dethatching. Dethatching brings soil to the surface to create a "bald" look on your lawn. While you may choose to patch or reseed your lawn if bare patches seem excessive, it's normal for a lawn to look bare after dethatching. With the layer of debris that was blocking water, nutrients, and air from reaching your grass now gone, your lawn is likely to grow better than ever.

Many homeowners in warmer climates like this resilient, hearty grass because it can tolerate excessive heat and drought while developing into a lush lawn. Unlike other grasses, Bermuda grass grows and spreads quickly and can withstand excessive foot traffic. But whether Bermuda grass is good for lawns may depend on your geographic location, as this grass has a low tolerance for cooler temperatures, which causes it to go dormant and turn brown in the winter months.

No, you don’t need to edge your lawn every time you mow it, but you can if that’s your preference. Some homeowners edge their lawns weekly, every other week, monthly, or at the start of a new season (more likely for those with landscaping material like brick, plastic, or metal edging). It’s up to you how often you edge, and it depends on how quickly your grass grows and how crisp you want your edge lines to be.
