"They were very professional and thorough. They laid down tarps from the front door to the fireplace to keep all the debris off the carpet. He did a great inspection and then cleaned the chimney thoroughly. Will hire again!"

"The company was very prompt in responding to my inquiry. They were also quick to get me on their schedule and actually started a few days before my scheduled date. They tore down the old chimney and removed all of it away. Then they built a new chimney and it looks great. They matched the bricks perfectly and the workmanship was top notch. They placed a concrete top (ledge) on the chimney with a drip overhang on all sides. Something the old chimney was lacking. They also put a chimney cap on top of the flue to keep rain and critters out. The owner, Gary, called me and told me he could not complete the flashing around the chimney until I got a roofer to replace the shingles that had too much tar on them from years of patching. He said if the roofer preferred to do the flashing, then he would deduct the amount he was going to charge me for the flashing. As it turns out, that is what happened. I was also very pleased to hear the roofer tell me that the new chimney was very well done. He had real good things to say about it. I am very happy with my experience with this company."

"Chimney Sweeper arrived on time and was done in a short amount of time. He explained to me that one of the panels was cracked and needed replaced. When they arrived for the repair, they were done quickly and answered all my questions. I will be using them for future projects."

"I had a totally positive experience working with Sanders and sons Masonry for my foundation brick repairs, and my chimney cap replacement. They also cut out brick and put two glass block panels in too. Tim was very professional and explained the project in a way I could easily understand. He kept me informed, and did top-notch work. I highly recommend Tim and his workers to anyone looking to fix or restore their brick or block walls, and we will definitely use them again when needed."

"JEFF WORKED INCREDIBLY HARD WITHOUT HELP FOR 1 1/2 DAYS. CLEAN UP WAS SUCH THAT WE COULDN'T TELL HE'D BEEN HERE. VERY NICE MAN. VERY PROMPT CALL-BACKS AND IN KEEPING APPOINTED TIMES. MY SUGGESTION -- IF YOU HAVE A NEWER BUT LEAKY ROOF, CONSIDER GETTING YOUR CHIMNEY LOOKED AT BY A CHIMNEY SPECIALIST AS WELL AS A ROOFING COMPANY - YOU MIGHT JUST NEED CHIMNEY WORK, WHICH ROOFERS GENERALLY DO NOT DO."

"Overall, we are pleased with the end result.  The chimney looks great from the ground, although I have not been on the roof (it's rather high and steep). I rated a "B" for punctuality because the damage occurred in August and their assessment was performed soon after I called (response time was an "A"), but the work was done in January.  It took several months to identify a brick that matched the house, obtain the brick, and perform the work.  I must give them significant kudos because they were punctual with the assessment and they kept me apprised of the status with timely communication by e-mail.  They worked well with the roofer who also had some repairs to perform.  Also, I have a relatively new asphalt driveway, and I asked them not to park heavy equipment on it.  They not only accommodated my request, but it's hard to tell they were even on my yard (and I was home on occasion to observe).  They did a wonderful job cleaning up.  The price certainly wasn't cheap, but the workmanship appears to be excellent, and frankly, I've never had to have a chimney rebuilt.  I have no reservation about recommending them, and they will be my first call if I need masonry work done in the future."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Regular cleaning of filters and checking ducting ensures effective operation.

You should contact a local range hood installation professional to install your range hood and do the ductwork. Prices range from $50 to $100 per hour, with the total number of hours required varying based on the project complexity. Simple installations might take an hour or two, while more complicated ones can take four hours or more.

Yes, they can assess the size, kitchen layout, and ventilation requirements to make recommendations.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.

Typically 1-2 hours, factoring in ductwork and electrical connections.
