He kept blaming the previous pool guy for everything, and while I believe the previous guy was awful, nothing came out any better after Anthony. I texted him to ask where he got my pool liner and never heard from him again. I texted a few more times to ask for advice (and then to ask why so shady), but he completely ghosted me. Radio silence after going on about how I could call or text with any questions. Very disappointed, not to mention broke from paying him and having to pay for however many gallons of water I put in the pool. If he had even bothered to answer me, I wouldn't be writing this review. "

Perma Pools is the largest in ground pool builder in Central Indiana, building both vinyl liner and fiberglass pools. Perma Pools has been in business over 35 years and performs full after sale service, including openings, closings, weekly service etc. We have been rated by Angie as the number one pool builder in Indianapolis since 2007. We do not offer Above Ground Pool Installs.

"Perma Pools will take your money and complete your project. But once they have your money, their customer service and concern about your pool and its needed services are over. Our pool was completed in 2022 and they received their final check from us in October of 2022. Upon the pool opening in 2023 they (mainly Daniel Majestic) refused to speak with us about our concerns about being charged for the opening (when we shouldn't have been), never took the time to contact me after multiple requests. We also had concerns about some of the pool completions items upon opening. They sent a young kid to check it out, the kid was kind enough and respectful, but did not help ease our worries about potential problems in the future. So if you want a pool I'd suggest finding a company that will continue to take care of you long after you have it installed the product, the pool itself is a long time commitment so I intended on using the same company for maintenance but I will NOT use Perma Pools again."

Where you drain a hot tub largely depends on local regulations, but you must not drain chemically treated water where it can damage the environment. Direct the water toward a sanitary sewer drain that will take it to a treatment facility. If your lawn has a dedicated drainage area that’s free from plants and foundations, you can likely drain it there. Avoid storm drains, as the hot tub water will enter waterways and could hurt aquatic life. Likewise, do not pour it out directly on any public land or where it can get into your neighbors’ property. 

Most hot tub motors can last between five and 10 years; however, hot tub motors can burn out sooner if the hot tub water is not maintained or if the motors themselves are not maintained or protected from the elements. Since hot tub motors (also referred to as spa pumps) power the jets and circulate the water, they are important for the functioning of your spa. Buying a quality motor, keeping the hot tub filter clean, and keeping the wet end of the motor wet and the dry end dry can help them last longer.

You should put chlorine in your hot tub on a regular basis. To keep bacteria away, keep the chlorine level in your hot tub at between 3-5 mg/l, which may mean you need to add chlorine daily or at least every two to three days. Don’t add chlorine to your hot tub water more than once per day.

Though a hot tub has many benefits, there are a few cons. Mainly, hot tubs require a lot of maintenance. You’ll need to deep clean yours quarterly, test the pH at least once or twice a week, and add sanitizing chemicals once a week. They also have relatively high ongoing costs since you’ll need to pay for electricity and repairs. 

Most hot tubs use between 1,500 watts and 6,000 watts of electricity, depending on the voltage of your heater. 120-volt heaters tip toward the low end, and 240-volt heaters tip toward the high end. Expect your pump to add another 1,500 watts. Newer, energy-efficient models use less electricity, while older models use more.
