To be fair, our house was build in the 1950's and much of the original plumbing was done by a previous home owner. Also, our furnace, AC, and water heater were 20-30 years old. Due to the old appliances, Holt sent out one of their more experienced HVAC/plumbers to provide an estimate on all the work. He seemed very knowledgeable and explained exactly what need to be done. They then sent out one of their sales staff to provide us with the estimate based on what models we wanted to purchase for the installation. The sales pitches were pretty cheesy, and I wasn't overly impressed with the prices offered, but they were in the ballpark (often you get what you pay for), and I wanted the job done right. We asked for financing, which is done by a third party, and there seemed to be a lot of miscommunication between Holt and the finance company. We even had to resign the paperwork a few days later, because it wasn't filled out correctly. After the paperwork was squared away, Holt arrived at our house a few days later in the morning with 3 vans and about 5 workers. I was at work all day, but my wife was home while they were there. My wife had to tell plumber about removing the basement toilet and line connecting it. Apparently, that info got lost between the sales/office people. When I got home, we still heard them working in the basement. Around 7pm, the HVAC guys told us they were done, and asked if we'd like to see, which we did. They did a very good job installing the furnace and AC and showed us how to operate it and where the instructions were. Now for the bad part. The plumber had apparently left before I arrived home and didn't tell my wife anything. While we were down there I noticed that the line the plumber removed (which had run in front of the electrical panel) had been removed and capped. However, the cap he soldered on was dripping on the electrical panel!!! The HVAC guys installed a temporary plastic tube from the leak to a drain, so that a plumber could return later to fix it. Before the HVAC guys left, I thought to myself that I should test to make sure we actually had hot water. The kitchen was fine with hot and cold water. The bathroom sink had hot water only. The bathroom toilet and tub had no water unless I turned on the sink's hot and cold water valves, and even then they only got hot water. The HVAC guys didn't know what was wrong with the plumbing, and their office offered to call in their after-hours plumber. That was appreciated. When I found out it would take around 2 hours for him to arrive, I declined and said they could return the next day. The next day the same plumber that installed the water heater arrived. Immediately, he suggested that my water lines might be clogged and he might have to discuss pricing to fix them. Not what I wanted to hear since it all worked before he arrived the previous day. After about a half an hour, he discovered that when he removed the basement toilet and the line connecting the basement toilet and water heater to the rest of the plumbing, he hooked it back up incorrectly. There was no cold water to the bathroom and by turning on the hot and cold water at the bathroom sink it allowed hot water to flow through the sink and to the bathroom toilet and tub. So, he did find problem, fixed it, and did not charge us as it fell under warranty. We were told we would be contacted to have our furnace calibrated. After a couple of weeks, we called them and the office staff informed us that they left a voicemail asking to setup a date and time. If that phone call was made, I never got the voicemail. So, we had one of their HVAC guys back out to calibrate the furnace. He happened to notice that the previous plumber had installed a natural gas water heater. We have propane!!! I'm very glad he spoke up and said something, as we probably would have never noticed. So that is some much appreciated honesty. The next day Holt cam back out, removed the natural gas water heater and installed a propane water heater at no charge. Overall, I think Holt is a good company with some really competent HVAC and plumbers. Clearly, between the one plumber and the sales/office staff, there is room for improvement. And they told me the compressor came in just a couple of days after they had ordered it but then it was nearly two weeks from when it came in until they could come and replace it. Supposedly everybody's appliances broke at the same time and they just had call after call. Supposedly the job was supposed to take two hours, but he wasn't here for two hours but I paid for two hours of service. Supposedly they just couldn't come any sooner because they didn't have a two hour block of time available. And then it wasn't even done right, they have been here two times since then and I have to call them again. When he replaced the compressor he had to use some sort of a torch, I guess it was some sauder balls hitting my vinyl floors. It totally burned the vinyl floor, it is under the refrigerator but still. There are like 16 burn marks. They said they would make it right, but he knew he did it and I had to complain about it, I didn't know about it initially. It wasn't until the refrigerator started leaking and I had to move it to clean up the water that I saw after fact what they had done. When he was here today to put more free-on in, I don't think he was going to say anything today, I had to bring it up. "Horrible! The workers did not show up each day until about 10am (or later) and would leave around 2-3 pm (and that’s including an hour for lunch) so not much progress on the house daily. I was told my house would be completed within 1-2 weeks, instead it was about 2 months. All that and we were left with a less than mediocre result. I honestly don’t think these people have ever installed vinyl siding before. I have had a lot of the siding fall off and I put back myself, all the top pieces of siding fell off at least once, they came and replaced but the pieces fell off again after they left. I realized they don’t even own the notching tool for the top row pieces (or even know it exists). I had to go purchase this tool, notch the pieces and reinstall myself. Also noticed some of the siding nails were drove in tight, you cannot do this with vinyl siding. It has to be able to move with the temperature changes (can’t wait to see what happens this winter). I still have 2-3 pieces that need replaced but they are at the highest point on my house at the peak (requires a man lift to access) and have been told by the owner several weeks ago they are coming back to fix it, I’m still here, holding my breath. This company might be ok at building a small deck or maybe some bird houses but if your looking for quality craftsmanship, as you should when it comes to your home, this isn’t it."

FAQs for ge appliance repair projects in Bloomfield, IN
If your refrigerator needs to be repaired, contact an appliance repair company to diagnose the issue and repair your refrigerator. It’s okay to leave it plugged in and running, but unplug it if it makes unusual noises.
Signs that your refrigerator may need repairs include:
Food items are not being held at the correct temperature (between 35 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit)
The fridge is using too much energy and seems to run all the time
Loud and/or unusual noises
Possible causes include:
A damaged door
Faulty condenser coil
Malfunctioning control board
Contacting an appliance repair professional as soon as possible can help save items in your fridge from spoiling. Common fridge repairs include the compressor, control board, thermostat, defrost motor, coils, and ice maker.
The answer to repairing vs. replacing appliances depends on the type of appliance, the severity of the issue or damage, and the quality of it. If you’ve purchased a top-of-the-line small appliance, it’s almost always more cost-effective to repair it than to replace it. You should also consider the cost to repair it, though. If the repair cost is more than half the cost of a new version, lean toward purchasing a new one. Your small appliance technician could also help you decide by determining the expected remaining lifespan after the repair.
Small appliance repair costs average around $50to $400, with costs ranging significantly based on the type of appliance, the extent of the damage, the issue, the appliance brand, and the availability of replacement parts. Generally speaking, you’ll pay less for repairs on very small appliances, like blenders and toasters, than you will for microwave repairs. We recommend consulting a small appliance repair technician for a quote before starting the project.
The average cost to repair an appliance depends on the appliance, make, model, the part that needs repair, and how long it takes to replace or repair a part. The following are the average repair costs for the most common appliances:
Refrigerator: $200–$300
Freezer: $90–$500
Oven, cooktop, range: $100–$500
Microwave: $50–$400
Dishwasher: $160–$300
Garbage disposal: $70–$250
Washing machine: $50–$450
Dryer: $100–$400
Appliance repair contractors may charge $40 to $120 per hour for labor, and most also provide the replacement parts necessary at an additional cost. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays and emergency fees may apply if you need your appliance fixed immediately.
Small appliances typically include microwaves, toasters, toaster ovens, food processors, blenders, mixers, slow cookers, air fryers, coffee makers, rice cookers, and any other appliance that can sit on your countertop. Major appliances include refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, washers, and dryers. Some people may include HVAC equipment like condensers and air handlers in this category, too. Small appliances are more of a specialty, so there’s a good chance a typical appliance repair company won’t be able to service and repair small appliances.
