Considering it was less than 1 hour of work and the cost of the part was probably less than $200, I would not expect labor costs to be so high.  Typically I will not use a company who I feel overcharges, but I really had little choice this time.  I understand it was after hours when the work was performed, but I requested service during normal hours.  Unfortunately they were backed up with service calls, so it was 8:30 PM before he was able to arrive.
I am grateful that I was able to get the pump replaced.  I just wished it was not so expensive.  I fully support our local businesses and that's why I use them.  However, sometimes they make it hard to come back for services.  If I had an option, I probably would have shopped around more before choosing a company.  This was a crisis, so no time to research and schedule an appointment.

"We had Jones Air & Water come out to install filtration and replace a catalytic core system that we had installed to prevent descaling. In our situation, we had a high volume of Chlorine in the water that you could definitely smell and taste. The catalytic core system, didn't live up to the expectations and we still had to deal with a heavy scale build up noticeable on all of our faucets and with two Rinnai units for on demand hot water that raised concerns about what type of build up we were having on what we couldn't see. Everett came out and was very thorough in testing the water and then explaining a recommended solution. We finally decided on a dual media tank solution that Everett and JD installed that provides us with an efficient way to not only handle the Chlorine issue, but truly conditions the water and we're noticing all of the differences that Everett explained we should see.
