"Our project involved removing wallpaper, that was painted over, painting trims, patching and covering some small tracks. We interviewed 4 companies and at the end we chose Dr Paint. They were professionals. Every day they would clean up, remove the trash. They worked on Saturday's so they can finish the job on a deadline we requested. And they did. The house looks great as a result of their work. I would recommend them to my family and friends. Great price and great job, we are very happy."

"Matt and his team did a wonderful job! Matt is the ultimate professional! In addition to his painting skills, he has interior design skills as well. I was looking for design suggestions for my painting project. He listened to my input and we were able to agree on a wonderful palette of colors for my home. Matt will go the extra mile until the customer is completely satisfied. Truly authentic and the consummate professional!"

"The painters were professional, on time, and respectful! They painted the entire interior including the closets, and followed directions to the letter! They also installed 6 can lights (12 total) in 2 rooms. They left ABSOLUTELY NO MESS behind, and they reinstalled shelving that they took down. I would highly recommend them, their work is impeccable. We plan to do a bathroom remodel soon, and will hire this company to do the work."

"Fantastic !! Anthony and his crew are very professional and great to work with. Everything was explained up front and the painters and carpenter did a very good job . We had a lot of exterior trim and delicate french windows to paint and they did a great job with those also ! The carpenter did an excellent job on several areas of trimwork repair. We'd definitely recommend them to others and are having them look at an interior job next. Torrey and Pat Conard"

"Ken, the owner, is a honest man. That's what you need in someone that you are entrusting the work on your home to. He tells the truth and he is a caring person. He wants to do things right. The work is top drawer! They painted the outside of our house and rebuilt and refinished 2 decks."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

First off, take a breath. The good news is that interior paint, especially when used outside, won’t harm your health. The bad news is that you’re going to have to reapply the proper exterior paint at some point in the not-so-distant future. Otherwise the current coat will chip, crack, and fade, or worse, develop mold or an insect infestation without remediation.

You can apply waterproofing over paint, but you won't get as much protection as you would if you painted the surface with a waterproof paint from the get-go. Not all waterproofing methods are compatible with painted surfaces, and they may not adhere well. This is especially true if the paint is glossy, old, or flaking. Waterproofing sealers are primarily meant to be applied to porous surfaces, like concrete, wood, or brick.

Yes, you can technically use a pressure washer to remove paint from brick, but it comes with a significant risk of damaging the brick surface. A high-power pressure washer can be fast but may leave the brick looking unsightly. The recommended method is to first apply a chemical paint stripper, following the product's instructions, and then use a stiff metal bristle brush or a pressure washer on a low-pressure setting to remove the loosened paint. Due to the risk of damage, it is often best to hire a professional who can use low-stress methods.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

While the above methods will help you remove paint from tiles, you may need to take a different approach to get rid of grout haze. If you’ve recently applied the grout, you may be able to wipe it off with a wet cloth. Otherwise, you can try removing it with a rubber grout float, spraying it with a mixture of four parts water to one part vinegar, or using a store-bought grout haze remover.
