"All the staff from Sidings and Windows group were very skilled and professional. Alberto's team did an amazing job in every detail of siding our 100 year old Oak Park Bungalow. They removed all old siding and stucco and replaced it with siding, also installed new gutters and soffit. They also replaced several old basement windows and 2 small living room windows and the window work was also excellent. They replaced a section of roof over our back porch. The house looks great, we also noticed a significant improvement on the insulation of our house immediately, we were able to set the temp of our AC higher and still stay cool. Highly recommend their team."

"Tom was extremely professional, careful, fast, and timely in his work. He responded promptly to my request for an estimate. Provided a great solution to the problem I was having. And was able to get the work done in a tight time frame. His price was very reasonable. He went above and beyond to improve the flashing before installing the new siding."

"We used Integrity Windows and Siding back in 2012 to replace our siding and half of our windows (one of the windows did break shortly after installation - it was quickly replaced at no cost, no questions asked). Fast forward to 2023, we again sought out Integrity and Howard to install some of the remaining windows. Howard is very knowledgeable, easy to work with, explains options, kept us informed during the process and sells a quality window at a fair price. Mike, who has been with Integrity for 20+ years, was very careful during the installation - clearly he knows what he is doing! The windows look great, work great and keep us warmer. We highly recommend Integrity and Howard for your next project. We couldn't be happier."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Several clues suggest that your stucco is damaged or has underlying issues. Visual clues include discoloration, cracks, indentations, broken caulking, or visible mold. If you touch your stucco and feel any soft spots, that could also indicate a problem. If you notice any of these concerns, call in an inspector who can confirm your suspicions and help provide solutions.

Choosing between traditional and synthetic stucco depends on your specific needs, budget, and climate. Both options are durable, but synthetic stucco includes an extra layer that makes it more resistant to cracking and a better choice for climates with extreme weather. In hot, dry climates with less rainfall, traditional stucco is a suitable and more affordable option that is less likely to trap moisture. Synthetic stucco also offers more color options and requires less maintenance.

The best way to assess that your stucco needs repair is to inspect it, both visually and physically. If you notice cracks, chips, or staining, that’s a good indication that your stucco could use some TLC by a professional. Additionally, if you touch an area that feels soft and has a little “give,” you should consider repairing it as soon as possible to avoid further damage, both to additional stucco spots and to your home’s structure.

German schmear is a durable brick masonry coating. It should last at least a decade or two without flaking or fading, even with minimal maintenance. This makes it an economical option compared to the cost of painting your house exterior, which usually needs to be repainted every five to 10 years to keep it looking its best—thus costing more over the same time period.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.
