"We are very pleased with Best Cost Movers for their excellent service and low price. We were moving from a 2 BR condo in Geneva to a house in Hinsdale. We found Best Cost Movers from Angie's list and called Eric for appointment. He set up the moving time and also confirmed it by email. On moving day, Santos and Dan were very careful in packing and moving our furniture. They managed to avoid any scratches or dents to the condo and the house. They were very efficient in both moving and driving. We appreciate their effort in making our move a very pleasant experience."

"We had some travel time and needed some time to get our new location set up before they delivered our belongings.  They were good on unpacking and delivery.  We only had one issue. The trailor they used was a frieght box that wasn't clean.  There was a fine black dust that covered all of our belongings.  Nothing was damaged by this dust, so no harm done.  We were able to track the truck from start to finish and only had one piece of furniture that was damaged.  Overall, we are pleased with the experience!  The movers did a great job helping us out!  We had 16,000 lbs of belongings they moved!"

"Door 2 Door Moving - There is so much I can say about the call to serve and the call to provide service. I contacted Door 2 Door Movers at the very last minute. But although it was last minute it was also a answer prayer and a blessing. Door 2 Door Responded with an Fair and Reasonable price for the time and work. I didnt feel like they was trying to get over like another moving company try to charge me double. But Door 2 Door was fair price. However these Man came right away I had to move from a third floor apartment and going to a second floor apartment. These Man came in broken down all my furniture, blankets, and wrapped everything. They was finished before time. What can I say they came and meant business. Without hesitation they got the job done. I would recommend Door 2 Door Movers to anyone. They were punctual, professional, very respectful and polite. Exceptional service My rating is a Grade " A" for Excellence. Thank you guys once again...Blessing and May your business continue to prosper."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

It is best to book a moving company two to three months before your move-out date. This provides enough time to compare rates, organize your belongings, and find an available crew for your desired day and time. While you might find movers with only one or two weeks' notice, some companies require booking up to 90 days in advance.

Planning ahead is especially important if you're moving during the busy summer season when demand is highest. Summer weekends, in particular, book up quickly. Securing your movers well in advance helps you avoid the stress and potential extra fees of last-minute arrangements.

Most upright pianos weigh between 500 and 1000 pounds. Other vertical pianos, which are sometimes confused with upright pianos, may be between 200 and 500 pounds. Spinet pianos weigh between 200 and 400 pounds, console pianos are 350 to 450 pounds, and studio pianos are 400 to 500 pounds.

Yes, there are sometimes hidden costs when hiring a moving company. These can include fees for packing, handling, and assembling specific large items, fees for packing materials used, and charges for trips over a certain mileage. To avoid hidden fees, always request a detailed quote before booking or paying a deposit.

Move date means the day that you are relocating your items from one space to another. If you’re renting, your move out date is usually the same as the last day of your lease, but it won’t necessarily be the same as your move-in date to another property.

You can move a pool table without taking it apart only if you’re moving it a short distance, like from one room to another, and with the help of several people or a professional moving company. But if you’re moving the pool table from one home to another, experts strongly advise you not to move it without taking it apart. If you leave it in one piece, you could risk not only your own personal safety, but also risk damage to the pool table itself. The bumpers could need to be realigned and the slate may have to be re-leveled if you try to move a pool table without taking it apart. In this case, the risk usually doesn’t outweigh the reward.
