Customers say: Quality work

"Suspected something living under my house, and did not know if animal was attracting neighborhood coyote. Was surprised to find a pup litter of coyote babies under my house. When I called John he offered to come that Sat., but would be cheaper to come on Monday. Chose to wait. He came as expected, took care of the problem, left a cage for unfinished business, and came back a week later to remove the cage. He was very pleasant and advised me of cost upfront. Said many companies charge per animal removed, he did not charge like that. It was a flat rate. 7 babies would have been very expensive! There was a trip charge and a removal charge. Very pleased with service."

"I took in a stray cat, and when I took it to the vet, he said it had fleas, and therefore my house had fleas and I needed to call an exterminator. He recommended I find one that would sterilize new hatchlings rather than one that would kill only existing fleas with an insecticide bomb. I found Shepp Pest Control, and when I asked what they would do, they described exctly what the vet had recommended. Mark was able to come within a few days, at a time of my convenience. I gave him an A for punctuality, even though he was an hour late, because he insisted on giving me a discount because he was late! He was very friendly, seemed very competent, and completed the work in short order. The price was extremely reasonable, even without the discount. He guarantees the work and urged us to call him to come back at no additional cost if we saw any further problems. If I have any further need for an exterminator, I will definitely call on Shepp again. They are a family owned business, and I recommend them to anyone looking for an exterminator.

Animal Removal questions, answered by experts

It’s possible that skunks will leave on their own. Skunks may appear briefly on your property and move on if they cannot find food. However, waiting them out is not a foolproof solution. If the skunk finds a food source on or near your property and builds a nest, the animal will almost certainly not choose to move. If you can eliminate food sources, you’ll have a better chance of seeing the skunk leave on its own.

When baiting an iguana trap, several items should be avoided. Do not use poisonous baits, such as those intended for rats or mice. This practice is often illegal, is unlikely to attract iguanas, and poses a significant risk to pets or other wildlife. Additionally, avoid using herbs, fruits, and vegetables that are toxic to iguanas, such as fresh sage, rosemary, avocados, and eggplants. While ripe fruit can be an effective bait, be sure to remove any pits or seeds from fruits like apples, pears, and peaches, as they are highly toxic. Finally, steer clear of citrus fruits, which act as a natural deterrent.

Snakes love yards where they can access pet food, insects, and rodents. They also like places with plenty of hiding spots, such as tall grasses, thick or overgrown shrubbery, pools of water, broken gutters, and boxes. Reducing clutter and debris on your property may help keep them from visiting.

Armadillos have very strong smelling capabilities to track down insects efficiently. But this superpower is actually a double-edged sword because their extreme sense of smell also causes them to be more sensitive and deterred by strong odors. To keep them at bay, you can place small amounts of substances like vinegar, ammonia, and mothballs around your property and near armadillo hotspots.

Although you can technically flood an armadillo out of its hole, it’s important to remember that this can be potentially fatal to the animal. Armadillos sleep between 16 and 18 hours a day, and if you perform this technique while they’re deep in sleep, they may not awake soon enough to save themselves.

Yes, filling gaps can help with pest problems in your home. Sealing baseboard gaps reduces small-insect entry points into your home. Even tiny spaces provide pathways for pests, so addressing all gaps throughout your home creates a more effective barrier than spot treatments in individual rooms.
