"Dave from Green Valley came right on time and was very personable. He checked out my roof and gave me some suggestions of what I should watch out for. He did not charge anything for doing this which was great! I am used to companies charging for absolutely everything they do. Very refreshing and I will definitely be calling them again when I need them. I now plan on also having them install a storm door for me too!"

"Cajun and Eric took care of everything, including disposing of a few additional items. They were professional and easy to work with. Cajun kept in touch with me from beginning to end, and I'm hoping that U can get them in for future projects. Thank you guys, awesome!!!"

"I had this company replace my windows, siding, insultation and decking on my porch. They were on time and did an absolutely beautiful job. I got used to opening my front door and finding their crews working. They were here for about a week and I never even had to clean up after them. What a marvel! The young man that ran the siding crew(Carlos) was nothing but kind and nice to me no matter what stupid question I asked. I can't praise this company enough."

"Wade does 95% of the work himself. Bid was more than fair for our project and there were no cost overruns. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and so was the city building inspector. Wade handled changes to the project when we had to move a door and stairs to a different wall midway through the project. We've already hired him for another project."

Doors questions, answered by experts

Most modern door knobs will all fit in standard, modern doors, so if you know your door was made in the last 50 years or so, you should be fine buying a standard replacement door knob. The only exception would be a thumb latch handleset for an exterior door, as this type of door knob may not fit your door without drilling a mounting hole for the bottom of the handle. Antique or custom doors might also have different sizes and knob mounting holes, so call in a professional if you don’t believe your door is a standard one.

Continuous hinges are some of the sturdiest hinges available, which makes sense, given that they provide support along the entire side of the door. These hinges are often used for heavy commercial doors, but are impractically expensive and unnecessary for residential use. Among the hinges commonly used in homes, the ball-bearing hinge is the strongest, and it reduces friction to help heavy doors open more smoothly.

The lifespan of your door depends on the door type, its wear and tear, and the weather conditions in your area. For instance, front doors last between 20 and 60 years, depending on the material. Garage doors, on the other hand, last between 15 and 30 years. Interior doors don’t get hit with the elements and can last between 20 and 50 years, if not more.

French doors can either open inward or outward, but because hinges are the mechanism for opening and closing, a single set of French doors will not be able to do both. Most French doors only open outward onto a patio, deck, or porch, while some only open inward if the outdoor space is limited and can’t accommodate the open doors.

The cost of folding patio doors is higher than the typical patio door cost because of their size, complex mechanisms, and additional hardware needed to operate them. These doors may stretch as far as 18 feet, require specialized installation from an expert, and have many more moving parts that could malfunction if not installed carefully.
