A screw-on faucet has threads inside and screws onto the pipe, while a slip-on faucet slips onto the pipe and is secured with a setscrew on its underside. You may also encounter other designs, such as freestanding, wall-mount, deck-mount, or other high-end specialized systems. It is important to identify your specific faucet type before attempting removal to avoid damaging the pipes or the wall.
