"This was phase 2 of 3 of my window and door project. I installed another patio door and 2 bathroom windows with privacy glass. Gus had his team replace all the rotted wood and add new aluminum capping on the exterior. The products came in earlier than expected and they were able to install everything well ahead of schedule. Again, I am so pleased my neighbor referred Lifetime to me as Gus was unbelievable to work with."

"Real Seal did a great job. The estimator visited and walked me through everything, took his time to look for potential causes of a our problem, questioned up extensively about when we had problems and ended up suggesting that we start small (and inexpensive) to see if fixing a crack would solve problems. Other estimators with other companies went straight to really expensive drain tile systems without looking for other possible solutions. The work was scheduled promptly and they did a great job. They called back and checked on how everything was working 24 hours after the install, and scheduled a second visit to make sure everything was working well and that I was happy with the result. I would hire Real Seal again and highly recommend them."

"Tom did a great job replacing two exterior doors at a very fair price. Tom was very good with communication and even came out when I had some questions on the project. He was able to come out and complete the project right away. Highly recommend his company."

"Kevin's crew began the project by re-glueing several tiles that were very loose. Then they came back the next day to install new grout. They actually asked what color I wanted (unusual, as someone else put non-matching grout on only a portion of the tiles). Another person in a prior attempt to fix this shower used non-waterproof grout. I'm lucky this was redone before any damage was done. Kevin made sure I wanted white grout. They did an exceptional job. This shower never looked this good, even after it was first installed. They cleaned the tiles and flooring before leaving and made sure I was happy with their work. Kyle asked for matching wall paint to fix a section that looked terrible where it met the tiles. Kevin's crew made sure to accommodate my quirky schedule. They were considerate of my little dog. They are professional and pleasant. They do absolutely incredible work. The best part is that Kevin hires veterans for his company, thereby benefitting them and those of us who hire them. Kevin is meticulous about that he does and how he is going to do it. He discusses what he will do before the job, so you aren't ever in the dark about what is going on. I highly recommend The Handy Veteran."

"I met Power home remodeling at a festival here in Gurnee. I approached them at the booth and met a very pleasant young man Rocky. He help me get set up with an estimate for Dan the salesman who came out and delivered a very thorough professional polite and informative presentation. I was impressed by the quality of the product the high energy efficiency which is demonstrated from the heat lamp, also the strength of the glass when he pounded the nail into a block of wood using the glass wow, and also the welded construction frame. The crew showed up on time it was a one-man band and he installs seven windows in my home in what must of been record time. There was much follow up and follow through which made me feel comfortable and very happy to recommend power to others and would also considered using them again for future projects."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Once you’ve gotten any scuff marks, grime, and burn marks off your glass stovetop you can use vinegar to finalize the clean without leaving streaks. Just put some white vinegar in a spray bottle and spritz it onto the stovetop before wiping it in a consistent direction with a microfiber cloth.

There are a few reasons your mirrors might have smears on them after cleaning, but the two most likely are remaining cleaning product and minerals from hard water. If you used a commercial glass cleaner, consider spraying down the mirror with a 1-to-1 ratio of white vinegar and water after cleaning and then wiping it dry with a cotton cloth. If you suspect hard water is the issue, use a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol to spot-clean the streaks, and then let the mirror air-dry.

This happens when condensation forms due to your room temperature being lower than its dew point. You can clean the glass with a combination of baking soda, vinegar, and warm water to wipe away the fog from the doors.

Contrary to popular belief, wavy glass in older homes isn't caused by warping. The blowing technique used to create windows in homes dating back to the 1700s, 1800s, and early 1900s left behind small bubbles that create a wavy effect. If a glass window is functional, there's no need to consider wavy glass damaged. In fact, many homeowners prefer the old charm of wavy glass.

You can use hot, soapy water, white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, window cleaner, nail polish remover, WD-40, and cooking oil to remove glass labels. You can also apply heat with a hair dryer or steam cleaner. Use a plastic scraper or credit card to remove the adhesive, as a razor blade can permanently scratch your glass.
