"This was phase 2 of 3 of my window and door project. I installed another patio door and 2 bathroom windows with privacy glass. Gus had his team replace all the rotted wood and add new aluminum capping on the exterior. The products came in earlier than expected and they were able to install everything well ahead of schedule. Again, I am so pleased my neighbor referred Lifetime to me as Gus was unbelievable to work with."

"Real Seal did a great job. The estimator visited and walked me through everything, took his time to look for potential causes of a our problem, questioned up extensively about when we had problems and ended up suggesting that we start small (and inexpensive) to see if fixing a crack would solve problems. Other estimators with other companies went straight to really expensive drain tile systems without looking for other possible solutions. The work was scheduled promptly and they did a great job. They called back and checked on how everything was working 24 hours after the install, and scheduled a second visit to make sure everything was working well and that I was happy with the result. I would hire Real Seal again and highly recommend them."

"Called to school appt for estimate and within 2 days had owner out for estimate. I looked at 3 other companies and was slightly concerned that Best Windows was so much less. But decided to go with them and I am quite happy I did. I was told windows would be ready in 4 to 5 weeks (I had a large customize size window that 2 companies could not meet my requirements). 4 1/2 weeks later got a call for installation and we agreed 2 install was for 3 days after the call. They replaced all 8 windows and one sliding glass door in one day. And there was a lot of dry rot and frame damage they needed to work on. They did a great job. They explained why we had so much air leakage with our old sliding glass door (no insulation a around it at all and it was just places on concrete slab with no buffer so lots of air coming in that way). They clean up inside and outside very well. You couldn't tell they were here other than the lovely new windows. Several neighbors have since asked me who I used since they like the job done on my place. I have no qualms about recommending Best Windows to them."

"After moving into our new older home, we recognized the need to replace the windows at the front of the house due to cracks in the glass and rotting wood. We attended home shows and spoke with different window companies and invited them to our home for estimates to replace the old windows. Price wise, they were all pretty much in the same ballpark, but the Chicago Window Guys offered us the best deal. We chose the Window Guys because we were dealing directly with the owner instead of sales reps and that made us more comfortable during the presentation and their recommendations of choosing the right replacement windows. The Chicago Window Guys Team were courteous and professional in every aspect. From the person doing the measurements to the installation team. They were punctual, respectful of our home and cleaned up after the installation. We had 4 windows removed and replaced in less than a day. After 1 year, we can honestly say we have no drafts or issues with their windows. We would definitely recommend the Chicago Window Guys to friends."

FAQs for glazier service projects in Johnsburg, IL

The cost to repair a window is $400 on average, with prices ranging from $75 to $1,500, depending on the window size, the broken part, and the window type. Broken glass and window frames are typically the most expensive window repairs, while minor fixes like repairing the track, seal, and sash are more affordable. Other cost factors include:

  • Number of panes

  • Window material

  • Accessibility

  • Labor costs

  • Emergency window repair

If you have a problem with your window, such as broken glass, minor leaks, or a problem with your window being stuck, repairing the broken part might be a cheaper option than replacing the entire window. However, if you have a deteriorating window frame or major leaks, buying a new window will be the better long-term solution.

Stained glass window repairs cost about $300 on average. Typical prices range from $65 to $800, depending on the size, location, repairs needed, and whether you need to fully or partially replace the window. Full stained glass window replacements can cost $700 to $5,000 per panel. The repair type also impacts repair costs:

  • Crack: $100–$300

  • Faded glass: $100–$300

  • Regrouting: $200–$500

  • Cement replacement: $200–$500

  • New window frame: $200–$500

  • Cleaning: $300–$600

  • Resoldering joints: $500–$1,500

  • Replacing reinforcing bars: $700–$3,000

Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.

The type of window repairs required significantly impacts the project cost. It’s always best to hire a local window repair company for this kind of work. The most common window parts that need repair include:

  • Broken seal or fogginess between panes: $70–$245

  • Cracked pane: $40–$100

  • Broken glass: $200–$2,000

  • Sash, seal, or track: $200–$600

  • Latch or hardware: $75–$200

  • Broken window frame: $175–$1,000

  • Replace window screen: $140–$480
