"This was phase 2 of 3 of my window and door project. I installed another patio door and 2 bathroom windows with privacy glass. Gus had his team replace all the rotted wood and add new aluminum capping on the exterior. The products came in earlier than expected and they were able to install everything well ahead of schedule. Again, I am so pleased my neighbor referred Lifetime to me as Gus was unbelievable to work with."
"I had a few wooden shingles come loose. I called Aric he came out right away and fixed the issue. Great guy. I highly recommend him. Any future issues I have a roof guy I can count on."
"Steve and the whole crew at Premier were great, and they did a fantastic job with the windows. We had them install vinyl windows in the upstairs last year, and we were able to do the first floor wood windows this year. Steve worked with us through the entire plan, and actually had the installers modify the external trim on the upstairs windows (last year!) so that they would match the wood windows we got this year. He did this even though he had no guarantee he'd get our business this year. Great customer service! The installations were done very professionally and the quality is excellent. They came when they said they would, it took as long as they predicted, and they cleaned everything up when they left. Like they weren't even there, except now we have some fantastic new windows. When one of our downstairs windows had a slight defect, Steve organized a Marven rep to come out and fix it. I would recommend this company to anyone. "
"I highly recommend Chicagoland Window Wizards. From the very first call, Karl, the owner was great. I had scheduled a couple of quotes on the same day and informed Karl of this. Knowing this his presentation was geared toward educating my wife and I in every single detail. He was very honest and upfront on materials, quality, and what to look out for in my other quotes. Just as he had told me the other companies gave me a much more expensive quote and inferior materials to what Karl was giving me. Installation took 2 days for 11 windows and a sliding glass door. Everything was clean, work was neat, and installation crew were great honest people. They liked my dog watching them work. Being a Realtor I will recommend them to anyone! call Karl!!!!!!!"
"Real Seal did a great job. The estimator visited and walked me through everything, took his time to look for potential causes of a our problem, questioned up extensively about when we had problems and ended up suggesting that we start small (and inexpensive) to see if fixing a crack would solve problems. Other estimators with other companies went straight to really expensive drain tile systems without looking for other possible solutions. The work was scheduled promptly and they did a great job. They called back and checked on how everything was working 24 hours after the install, and scheduled a second visit to make sure everything was working well and that I was happy with the result. I would hire Real Seal again and highly recommend them."
"Capped 12 unit apt Bldg s windows with aluminum, pleasure to work with, an expert, stands by his work, asked to come back down the road to ck caulking."
"Everything went great! John was a pleasure to work with. The installers were courteous and speedy. Prices were reasonable and the windows are top quality. We highly reccomend!"
"I am very pleased with my new windows. I used Home Genius Exteriors to do my roof, gutter protection, and now Windows. This is an absolute amazing company, my salesman brendan was very helpful, Devan the Project Manager helped make sure everything went smoothly. Walter and Mike also from production were very friendly and professional. And Shawn, the window installer was polite, knowlagable, and efficient. And even cleaned up on his way out. Next on the agenda is to get a new door taken care of. Highly recommend HGE"
For small, non-pressure-related cracks, you can fix them using two-part epoxy. This spares you the cost and hassle of replacing the glass. Simply clean the surface and remove any debris or dirt, wait for the glass to dry, then spread an even layer of mixed epoxy solution over the crack. You can use a putty knife or rubber spatula to push the epoxy into the crack.
Start by attaching the mirror to a wall stud if possible. Next, use appropriate hardware for the mirror's size and the wall material. That could look like drywall anchors, toggle bolts, or self-drilling anchors to ensure a strong hold. Additionally, D-rings or hanging brackets are more secure than a nail. You can also use mirror adhesive to secure small or larger mirrors with a vanity as a base.
The best tool for DIYers to use to cut glass is a glass cutter, which can either use a straight blade or a sharp cutting wheel to score glass. Once you score the lines you want to cut, elevate the scored line over a pivot point and apply light, even pressure to both sides. Make sure you wear protective gloves and glasses to stay safe during the process.
You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.
New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.
