"The remodel went great. Joe and his crew were friendly and prompt. They did the work in a timely fashion and were very good at communicating about the project. They did an amazing job transforming our bathroom. They replaced a vanity, walls, put in a tub and tiled. They also laid vinyl flooring and installed lights. We were impressed and thrilled with how quickly they worked and with the finished project. We would hire them again for another renovation. Please check them out."

"Very prompt with an estimate, on time to start project. It was a small project, just cutting some already installed ceramic tile so wood flooring could be joined neatly. Very neat and clean about themselves and the job. Will for sure call them for any job they can do. Sounds like an all around contractor. Really liked them and their work. Milliman is where I will start the next time I need something done."

"It went very well. I called on Saturday and talked with David, it was arranged they would come by on Monday and fix the step between 9-11, they were actually there a few minutes early and finished within 2 hours, including a trip to get materials needed."

"Greg Washburn Construction did a whole house renovation on a 1500 sqft home, for myself and my husband. We flip homes in the area and were in need of an additional contractor to support our business. Greg was not only reasonably priced but he and his crew started on time, were consummate professional and paid great attention to detail! When a problem would arise he would always address it with us immediately and also provide a cost-friendly solution without compromising the quality of work. He could have covered up big problems that came up with the project after the walls were opened up, but he instead told us about the issue(s) so we can handle them and deliver a superior product to our buyers. Greg understands the value in delivering a superior product! He and his crew were totally dedicated to our job from start to finish and did not rush to get the last 10% done quickly and shabbily. Greg addressed all of my concerns and even handled the additional items I tasked him with, that were not in the original scope of work. They were wonderful to work with and Greg Washburn Construction and our company will be doing lots of business together in the future! We received a great offer on our house after only 1 day on the market and had to cancel our upcoming Open House! That right there should speak volumes! Great Experience Indeed."

The average cost of installing tile is around $2,000, ranging between $400 and $6,500, depending on the type of tile, square footage of tile, and whether or not your tiling contractor performs site preparation, like removing old tile. On average, you can expect to pay between $5 and $45 per square foot, largely depending on the type and quality of the tiles you choose. For example, ceramic and travertine tile cost about $1 per square foot, but luxury tile options like marble cost up to $350 per square foot, not including labor.
Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost the value of your home. Tile is a highly durable and attractive building material, and savvy buyers will know they’re getting a low-maintenance flooring or wall covering that can last for 75 years or more. Keep in mind that the return on investment from tiling your bathroom will likely be higher if a professional tile installer does the work. Tiling is a complicated job, and mistakes will be very evident and detract from the appearance and value of the finished work.
On average, you can expect the tiling in your bathroom to take around 12 hours, usually spread over at least two to three days. The process can take longer if your tile installer needs to remove old tile first. Tiling a floor takes around six hours, and tiling the shower area often takes six to 10 hours. Some factors that affect the length of the project include the type of tile, the layout of your bathroom, and any prep work that your installer needs to do beforehand. It’s best to have an alternate bathroom available during the process.
Tile will almost always last longer than laminate flooring, regardless of the type of tile installed. Porcelain tile can last for 75 years or more with proper care, and even less durable ceramic tile will last for 60 years or more, provided they’re installed by a tile professional. On the other hand, laminate flooring has an average lifespan of around 20 years, and you might only get 10 to 15 years out of low-cost laminate flooring. As such, tile will add far more value to your home than laminate.
To find a local tile installer, your first step is to connect with professionals in your area and interview them. Ask the following questions to get a sense of their experience and ability:
How many years have you been in business?
Do you have a list of references I can contact?
What materials—tile, thinset, and mortar—will you use?
Does your pricing include materials and labor?
How long will my bathroom or kitchen be out of commission while you work?
Then, compare prices to find the best value for your investment.
