My name is Carson Thrasher. I’ve grown up around the Sullivan area and this is home. I have been around the electrical field for since 2018 when I graduated college. I’ve worked as an electrical engineer for a few years and started my business in 2023. I quit my job in November of ‘25 and am working the business full time. I have five start ratings on Google and strive to maintain a good line of communication with my clients. Honesty and integrity are key in my world and I ensure that as a customer of Amped Up Home Solutions you will receive just that.

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Homes in Paris built before 1960, or those with panels over 30 years old, are strong candidates for electrical upgrades. Signs like frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, or warm outlets indicate the need for improvements. If you’re planning to add modern appliances, set up a home office, or update your insurance, it’s a good time to consider electrical projects tailored to Paris’s housing stock.

Helpful?

In Paris, electrical projects can impact other systems, especially in older homes where wiring may run close to plumbing or HVAC lines. If your property uses electric pumps for wells or septic systems, plan for temporary interruptions during upgrades. Smart home installations may require internet improvements, which can be challenging in some Paris neighborhoods. Always discuss these factors with your electrician before starting any electrical work.

Helpful?

When evaluating quotes in Paris, be cautious of unusually low estimates, missing permit details, or contractors unwilling to provide local references. Reliable professionals will address common Paris home issues like outdated wiring and will be familiar with local codes. Ensure your quote includes a clear plan for safe disposal of old materials, which is important for environmental compliance in Illinois communities.

Helpful?

To enhance safety for families in Paris, install tamper-resistant outlets in all living spaces and GFCI outlets in kitchens and bathrooms. Consider adding childproof outlet covers in playrooms and using cord management solutions to keep cords out of reach. Motion-sensor lighting in hallways is especially helpful during long winter evenings. For added protection, use surge protectors to guard against power fluctuations common in central Illinois.

Helpful?

When planning electrical projects in Paris, consider local weather patterns—thunderstorms, ice, and tornadoes can affect both timelines and system needs. Permits and inspections are required for most electrical work. In rural Paris, utility access and internet limitations may influence smart home upgrades. Electrical improvements can increase your home’s value and may qualify for energy rebates through local utility providers in IL.
