"I hired Rob Heiser to install 7 new light fixtures and a post light on my home's exterior. He also installed a path lighting system and a brush box on the outside of my house to connect outdoor speaker cables to my Sonance system. Rob and his sons did an excellent job and were extremely professional. He performed the job exactly as I asked and did a great job cleaning and organizing all the removed fixtures and trash before they left. I would highly recommend Heiser Electric."

"J&M Electric was great! They updated my electric panel box, fixed some light switches, and installed a beautiful chandelier/ceiling fan and new light fixtures outside. The whole team was professional and courteous. The fees for all the work done was fare! I recommend them to anyone needing electrical work done and will use them again when the need arises!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Modernizing electrical systems in Highland can significantly boost your home’s value and attract buyers. Features like updated panels, reliable home wiring, and energy-efficient lighting are highly sought after. Buyers appreciate homes that are move-in ready and meet current safety standards. These upgrades can also help lower insurance premiums and set your property apart in Highland’s competitive real estate market.

Helpful?

Combining electrical work with other home upgrades in Highland is a practical way to save time and reduce disruption. For example, if you’re remodeling a kitchen or updating insulation, scheduling electrical wiring or panel upgrades at the same time means fewer contractor visits and streamlined inspections. This approach also ensures your home wiring meets current Indiana standards, making your renovation more efficient and future-proof.

Helpful?

In Highland, persistent flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or outlets that feel warm are early warning signs. If you notice buzzing sounds from panels or switches, or see discolored outlet covers, these could signal wiring problems. Homes with outdated home wiring or aluminum circuits are especially at risk. Addressing these issues promptly helps prevent more extensive electrical repairs and keeps your home safe.

Helpful?

Schedule electrical work in Highland if you experience burning odors, sparking outlets, or breakers that repeatedly trip. If your home is over two decades old, or you’re planning to install new appliances, it’s wise to have an electrical contractor assess your system. Annual inspections before storm season and after any flooding help ensure your home wiring remains safe and reliable year-round.

Helpful?

New Highland homeowners should start with a thorough electrical inspection, especially if the house is over 30 years old. Upgrading the electrical panel, adding GFCI outlets in kitchens and bathrooms, and installing whole-home surge protection are smart moves. Consider replacing outdated lighting with energy-efficient LEDs and updating outdoor outlets to weather-resistant models, which helps manage utility costs and prepares your home for Highland’s seasonal storms.
