"David and 1 of his workers were kind enough to come to my home to fix my sliding door so it would slide on a Sunday morning. They were back to replace the door on Monday. They were on time, efficient and even replaced the wood facing because the new door didn't fit exactly the same as the old door. I will definitely have them do my next job which hopefully won't be an emergency like the first job. While they were here, I also asked them to hang my Christmas lights and fix my flag stone path. They were efficient and affordable. I highly recommend them."

In Paris, most residential privacy fencing projects are completed within 2-3 days, while chain link or decorative fencing may take 1-2 days. Larger acreage or livestock fencing can extend up to two weeks, especially if the terrain is uneven. Permit approval in Edgar County typically adds 1-2 weeks, and heavy clay soil or inclement weather can further influence the project timeline.

Helpful?

Fencing in Paris addresses several common issues: it clearly marks property lines to avoid disputes, keeps out local wildlife like deer and rabbits, and shields your yard from strong prairie winds. Privacy fencing helps create a secluded outdoor space, while secure pet fencing ensures animals stay safe. Additionally, fencing adds a layer of security for both homes and outbuildings in semi-rural neighborhoods.

Helpful?

In Paris, fencing often begins with basic installations for privacy or pet containment during the early years of homeownership. By year five, routine maintenance like staining or repairing damaged sections becomes necessary. Around year fifteen, homeowners frequently upgrade to more durable materials or modern styles. After twenty-five years, full replacement is common, especially as landscaping matures and neighborhood preferences shift.

Helpful?

Paris experiences cold winters, humid summers, and frequent storms, so fencing must be built to withstand these conditions. Posts should be set below the frost line to prevent shifting during freeze-thaw cycles. Wood fences require regular sealing to handle moisture and temperature swings, while vinyl and chain link fencing are more resilient to Illinois’s weather extremes. Metal fences need rust protection due to humidity.

Helpful?

For new homeowners in Paris, start by confirming your property boundaries with a survey to prevent future disputes. Prioritize installing a boundary or privacy fence for backyard seclusion, especially if you have close neighbors. Pet fencing is highly recommended for the area’s active dog community. If you have a garden, consider deer-resistant fencing, and check if pool fencing is needed for safety compliance.
