"They responded to my inquiry quickly, arrived when they said they would, lived up to the quote they gave me, and did a professional job. Can't really ask for more from a contractor. Might not be the cheapest around, but you get what you pay for. I would hire them again if I need additional plumbing work done."

"Priced higher than a handyman Plumber. In line with big company professional pricing. The job was high quality product and don't well, Tony was very nice. However, I don't mind paying for labor but I wish I had a choice of lesser standard Home Depot/Menards products that were half the price. They put in an Hight quality ion sewer pump but I thing was over qualified for the home. I had a cheap builder one that lasted 15year. Every thing worked out fine."

"I had Ken and his crew come out in Dec. 2019 to install a new shower and replace two sink faucets in our primary bathroom. They did a great job. We did need a little warranty work done recently and they sent out a service technician who did what we asked courteously and professionally. I love a company that stands behind their work and Prime Baths in Coal City does just that. Will use them again as needed for sure."

"As a mom of two, I knew this remodel had to be smart with money and practical for everyday life. Tom was fantastic — he really listened to our concerns about budget and never tried to upsell us on things we didn’t need. Instead, he suggested durable, family-friendly options that were affordable but still looked great. It’s not just beautiful — it’s functional, budget-conscious, and makes our daily routine so much easier. For a busy family like ours, that’s the best investment we could have made."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

You’ll need two sizes of pipe to plumb a bathroom. You’ll use a 1/2-inch pressure pipe for your supply lines that run from the fixture to the larger 3/4-inch supply lines that run through the house. For drain lines, you’ll need a 3-inch PVC pipe for your toilet, a 2-inch PVC pipe for stand-alone showers, and a 1 1/2-inch pipe for a shower/tub combo and the bathroom sink. Each fixture’s drain will run to the 3-inch main drain that runs through the house.

Ever wonder what might cause your outdoor spigot to lose water flow? It's not as complicated as one might think. Something as simple as a clogged or leaky pipe could be the culprit. Some other causes are corrosion of the pipes or lack of water pressure coming from your street.

A plumber or certified gas technician is responsible for capping gas lines. Gas lines require expertise and understanding of safety standards to ensure it’s properly sealed. Your local regulations may also have specific requirements for capping gas lines.

Yes, in most cases, a plumber can increase your water pressure. However, a plumber isn't always needed. If you want to potentially save some money on a plumber, consider troubleshooting using the above steps. If your problem still isn't fixed, then it's probably time to call a pro to fix it for you.

In most cases, it’s better to repair a toilet than to replace it. Fixing issues like low water levels, running water, and flushing problems is less expensive than buying a new unit. Start thinking about replacement if the toilet is cracked, using excessive amounts of water, or is over 15 years old. Newer models are more water-efficient and clog less often than older models.
