The crew was careful not to damage the house or other healthy tree next to the tree being removed. They cleaned up after the job and were done within a couple of hours. Gerry talked through what we wanted done with our maple tree, gave us some advice, and gave us a written estimate on the spot. "Hired for lawncare and snow. It has been a disaster from beginning to end. From the start of getting licensed -2 months to fill out app. 1st snow -They have left our lot a total mess. They promised services they cannot adequately deliver for residential. The first snow and everything has been wrong. They sold us a dream- the reviews have to be lies that someone put out there. The first snow; equipment breakdown; they do not come when they say they are going to come; plowed snow toward the building in parking spaces, said they would be out to fix it. That was at 7-8ish this morning. Then said around 12pmish it would be about 4 hours. It is 6pm snowing again and we are being held hostage waiting for services. I would not recommend them to any residential building ever. I had to shovel myself out yesterday for 2 1/2 HOURS to ensure I could get out to go to work today. I had to salt some areas. The elderly can't get to their cars. Im still waiting -text at 12pm to come & salt & plow. "

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

Often, it’s the homeowner’s responsibility to handle the aftermath when a neighbor’s tree falls on their property. But if a tree has been obviously dead for a significant period of time and caused damage when it fell, a case can be made that the owner should have removed it, especially if the neighbor wrote you a letter about the tree or asked you to take it down. This can be grounds for a successful lawsuit in claims court and is a good reason to always pay attention to your trees and remove dead trees before they fall.

It's easy to misidentify trees that appear to be maple trees due to similarities in leaf shapes. Sweetgum, sycamore, and yellow poplar all have leaf shapes and appearances similar to maples. The fact that around a dozen maple tree varieties exist, only about half of which are considered common, makes misidentification an often typical occurrence.
