"Anthony and Rigo were very friendly, professional, and considerate. They were good about schedule notification and showed up on time. When they arrived, they explained what they were going to do very clearly. After performing their main tasks quickly and efficiently - with great concern for anything that needed to be moved and making no mess - they made a recommendation for another service based on the inspection. That service was well explained and made sense to do for the long term care of our chimney. I agreed, and they took care of it. We have used A-1 many times for fireplace set up and maintenance services, and this experience was very much in line with what we have come to expect from them."

"The chimney project went smoothly. The result of the initial work on the fireplace was less satisfying. Richard Olsen, the owner, agreed with me and had the work redone. He made sure that the end result was something that we both were happy with. I was impressed by his professionalism and the pride he took in the work done by his company. I will not hesitate to hire him again or to recommend him."

"This organization is first class. If I could give them an A+, I would. I have had them out four times now and each employee is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and works fast and good. The last was on 12/12/19 to assemble an air hockey table. Kevin Anderson and his partner did an excellent job and even cleaned up and hauled all debris out. Every time they come out it has ended as an most successful engagement."

"First off, Nick (the owner) same round to give me a quote for the work that we had done and a couple of other jobs that we chose to do ourselves. He arrived on time and was friendly and professional. I wanted the flaking paint on our balcony scraped and sanded down so I could repaint it myself. He said it would take them too long to do that but they would pressure wash it and scrape any remaining paint and it wouldn't need sanding. I was skeptical that it wouldn't need any sanding at all but decided to go ahead with the work anyway because they had such good reviews on here. They were able to send someone round (John) to do the work within a couple of days. He arrived 20 minutes after the 8:00-9:00 window and didn't apologize, but it wasn't a big deal. He initially was friendly and explained what he was going to do. He was very careful about not bringing any mess into the house. He set up the pressure washer and started working on the balcony, but then the machine began to leak. He started shouting aggressively at the machine (I was inside but he was very loud). He then stormed in from the balcony and I asked if there was a problem. He ignored me, stormed out, got in his van and drove away, leaving both the door to our condo and the door to the building wide open, even though he was well aware that I have a toddler and a dog. At this point, I called the company to ask what was going on and whether he was planning to return. They called John and called me back quickly to explain that he had just gone to get a new pressure washer. He returned within 20 minutes, apologized, and got back to work. The new machine then started leaking and he started shouting again. He never cursed but he was quite aggressive and, even though he was outside on his own, it was quite scary. Anyway, he carried on and did a very thorough job. He washed not only most of the flaky paint but also the deck, the walls and even our grill, which was awesome. He came back in and explained what he'd done then spent a good 20 minutes cleaning all the paint flakes from the balcony and the driveway below. Once he'd left, I went to check the work and realized he hadn't scraped any of the paint and there was a good amount of paint that still needed scraping. It was also obvious that it would need sanding, despite Nick's insistence otherwise. I called the company and explained that the job wasn't finished and they said they'd send John back that afternoon. I didn't want John back because of all the shouting, but they said he was the only one available and they were going to send him anyway. I had been quite intimidated by him and did not feel safe having him in the house, so my husband called and got quite angry that they were still going to send him even when I asked them not to. They agreed not to send John and instead sent Nick round the following morning. Nick was again prompt and professional. He apologized for John's shouting and acknowledged that the job had not been finished as promised. He gave me the choice of having someone else come back to scrape or refunding half the money. I chose the latter, only because we needed to have the work completed within a couple of days and I thought I could just do it myself. They refunded me $50, so the pressure wasing only cost me $45. Despite the problems I had with John's behavior, I felt that he did do a good job of the pressure washing and he went over and above what was asked by washing the walls, etc. too. And while it shouldn't have been necessary for my husband to call, once he did they resolved the situation very professionally. I think probably John was just having a bad day and normally he wouldn't be like that. I will use Handyman Pros in the future and I would recommend them to others."

Grill Assembly questions, answered by experts

Most likely, a gas plumber would be the best pro for many components in your home, and you might not even realize it. Natural gas plumbers are responsible for maintaining and installing natural gas lines, including installing appliances that use natural gas. These can include:

  • Fireplaces

  • Water heaters

  • Furnaces

  • Hot tubs

  • Clothes dryers

  • Ovens

  • Outdoor grills

Gas plumbers are also the pros that would handle a natural gas leak in your home, so it's essential to know the signs of a gas leak before it becomes a dangerous situation.

All U.S. states require permits for gas grill installation, so you’ll have to get one before you move forward with your project. Permits help ensure that the gas line runs safely to avoid gas leaks and explosions. Gas line permits can usually also only be pulled by certified plumbers, which means you’ll have to hire a professional from the start. The permit for a gas line installation for a gas grill usually costs between $100 and $300. You can contact your installation company or building department for more accurate pricing.

Yes, professional services typically include venting, gas line installation, and necessary permits.

The most significant benefit of having a gas grill over a propane grill is that you never run out of fuel unless there’s an outage in your area, which is rare. Unlike with a propane grill, you’ll never need to haul tanks back and forth to a local fill station, and you’ll never find yourself unable to use your grill because you forgot to refill your tanks. Gas grills also burn slightly cleaner than propane grills, and natural gas costs significantly less than propane, meaning it’s more affordable to run your grill.

While it’s possible to repair minor grill issues like replacing a burner, more serious issues are clear indicators that you need to replace the entire unit. A few signs that your gas grill may be at the end of its life span and it’s time to consider replacing it include:

  • Rusty or cracked firebox

  • Weak, yellow, or uneven flames

  • Flaking, cracking grates

  • Leaking or cracked propane hoses

  • Failing igniter

  • Heavy buildup of grease
