"When I went looking for flooring at a local store, the man said there was a good chance the tiles and glue were asbestos. My research indicated I could just cover the floor (encapsulate it) or remediate it. Even though it was expensive, I thought it best to remediate it. I used Angi's which is what I ALWAYS do and looked up service providers. I called a couple of them and got prices. Environmental was not the cheapest, but Maximus made me feel comfortable. He not only reviewed what needed to be done in the basement, he advised me about other things, as well. I felt like he really knew what he was doing, and he spent time with me. He gave me options, and I think he went above and beyond."

"I needed heating ducts cleaned. The first company I called did not show up or call. I called The Works and they came the next day - gave me a price and job was completed. Very upfront with process and also did mold remediation. It's very seldom these days for someone to actually do what they say and also do a good job!!! I would recommend this company very highly!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"My review is tiered because the overall service seems to run on tiers. The technician was great. Very personable and professional. 5 stars for his work. Your tests get sent to the lab. The lab explains the results and recommends a company for a DIY solution. This is where things start to fall apart. The company you get referred to has abysmal reviews and the sales pitch feels extremely predatory. That taints my opinion of the lab results which would be teamed up with a business they probably shouldn't recommend. We're planning on either an independent company locally to get a quote from for any remediations we will take or even see what home depot has to offer. In any event please read the reviews of BioCide, the company they will recommend you use. We're still not sure we even have a real problem if they are working together."

"Back in 2015, I had a company that offered to remediate my basement for $1,600. John came along and was going to do my whole house (basement, two floors and a attic) for $1,200. After he saw my uniform, he asked if I was serving in the Military. When I said yes, he knocked another $200 off. He went everywhere and was so professional. I would TOTALLY hire him again."

"Great company to deal with, from the first phone call to the cleanup after the job. Honest, professional, on time, great work and a decent price. I could not find anyone within 50+ miles to do the entire job I needed (which involved mold remediation, paint scraping, joint repair, and water resistant sealing). I will probably use them again for other services."

"We met SAL through a friend that he did some insurance work for.  We have a large kitchen with a huge island and always wanted to redo the floors.  As I was looking for tile for the floor I found glass accent tiles that I wanted to use on the back splash to tie everything together.  Needless to say our project just got larger. We struggled to find qualified contractors to do this work and because we spend so much time in our kitchen we wanted everything to be perfect.  From the first second we met with SAL we were totally comfortable and confident they could do the work to our expectations.  Sure enough the job was completed 4 days ahead of schedule and turned out PERFECT!!! I catch myself sometimes just staring at my new tile. I absolutely love it. I would recommend SAL to everyone. We also had them replace some windows & put up siding on the back of our house (cement siding).  SAL is honest & does everything he says he will do. Great job guys and thanks so much!!!

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

While water in your basement is unlikely to make you sick unless it’s coming from a sewage backup, mold is likely to start to grow in wet areas within 24 hours, and mold can make you sick. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), inhaling mold spores can cause allergy symptoms, including runny nose, itchy eyes, difficulty breathing, wheezing, and itchy skin. Individuals with pre-existing respiratory issues like asthma and immunocompromised individuals are at an elevated risk of symptoms when inhaling mold spores.

DIY cleanup is not recommended due to hazardous soot, odors, and potential structural issues.

Efflorescence itself won’t turn into mold, but it can cause moisture problems, which can lead to mold. It’s important to address an efflorescence problem as soon as possible, as mold can pose health risks and even compromise the structure of your home.

While mold in the bathroom can appear black, it isn’t always the dangerous black mold strain Stachybotrys chartarum. This type of mold typically appears after a flood or a long-term leak. If you suspect black mold, you should get it tested by a local mold testing service to determine whether it’s safe to remove yourself.

The most common reason for a smelly dishwasher is a dirty dishwasher filter. The filter is responsible for catching food while your machine is running to prevent clogs. Over time, that filter gets more and more filled with food particles. Cleaning your dishwasher filter monthly can keep the smell at bay.
