Adam and Trent arrived on time. They were kind, courteous, and respectful. They gave us a run down of their plans and then made sure all our questions were answered. They were very careful to take off muddy boots at the door and cleaned up after themselves very well. I was very impressed how quickly and efficiently they worked. The total job was done in 1 1/2 days. We were very happy with the finished project.

I called Brent Braker ( The owner) on Saturday and he called me right back even though they are closed. We spoke and decided since the equipment was still functioning and cooling the house we would set something up on Monday. Monday AM I was passing through Morton so I just stopped in at Garber place of business. I saw Brent and he set me up with the young lady ( I did not get her name, but she was fantastic !!) that sets service appointments. She was able to set the appointment for the next day between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM A little before 1:00 David from Garber called and asked what information I could share with him on the issue. He actually listened to what i had to say, which is unusual for most service techs. About an hour and 30 minutes later David called back and let me know exactly what he had found and what repairs he performed. He also ( at my request) serviced the entire system to make sure all was in good working order. Besides a dirty coil and plugged condensation line David said all else was in great shape. He did recommend that i use a different type of filter, and I have changed over to his recommendation already. Very Very impressed with not only the service, but the price was fair and the the treatment by every employee I had contact with was outstanding. They are now my only HAVC company. Will use them for maintenance and repairs going forward. The Price listed below includes the service call as well as the work. We are very satisfied, happy customers!

Garber came in to my home to clean up the chaos created by another local heating & cooling company. The quick service company’s improper install nearly burned the house down (their words!). When they didn’t admit their errors and lied about the warranty, I called Garber. Garber remedied the problem quickly, efficiently and on budget. Highly recommend!

We were very pleased with the service Garber provided. They showed up exactly when they said they would (always our first measure for using any service company!) and their prices were competitive. The work went smoothly, with the installers taking great care to protect our carpet and wood flooring with the drop cloths they provided. They were very polite and cleaned up well after the project was completed. They helped us program our new thermostat and made sure we were comfortable using it before they left. Jesse, our Garber representative, came by about a week later to make sure things were satisfactory and to answer any questions. We would definitely recommend this company to others.

Responsiveness was amazing, I called on a Sunday and said it was not an emergency. I received a call Monday morning 30 min after they opened saying a tech would be there in 5 minutes.

I was called at 2:21 and the worker said he was in Mackinaw and on his way to my place in Deer Creek. He arrived at 2:35 and left at 3:20.   He wrote down 2:00 for arrival and 3:30 for departure.  I was charged 147.00 for an hour and a half of labor.   I thought the high bill may had been from air condition inspection or maybe the cost of the thermostat so just did what I was asked and paid my bill.  He was there 45 minutes.   I can see rounding off to an hour but I feel there was some dishonesty for the 1.5 hours that I was charged.

About a year and a half ago I purchased a new furnace and a/c system from Garber.  Included with that was a whole house humidifier.  I had several problems with the unit whereas the installer would have to come out a replace the circuit board.  Then a part would corrode etc etc.
At one point a year had passed and the warranty on the humidifier had expired, so I had to pay for the service call.  After that when the unit failed again, I emailed Garber telling them that I was unhappy with the humidifier, felt like I got a defective one and didn't want to have to pay for another service visit.
They contacted Honeywell and arranged to have the entire unit replaced at no charge to me.
I feel that Garber did a fantastic job of customer service and kept me informed throughout the unfortunate situation that was no fault of their own.
A+ Company.

Contractor used a universal board to attempt to repair air conditioning which did work. When switching it to heat cycle no heat is produced. Found out from another company that the board will not work on this model of furnace. The furnace is old but the company should know what they are doing. On a previous visit the technician was rude but considered given them a second chance. Not again!

I think the quality of the product was excellent. I had a hard time getting them to return calls. Something changed in the process. It turned out to not be a major thing but I wish they would have consulted me first. The initial meeting was good. Overall, I feel like I have a good furnance and a good central air unit. I am happy with the product. I just felt like the first time that they left, they left a mess in my house, there was poor communication. They promised me it would be the best installation ever and it wasn't.

They did a pretty decent work. They came out the day that we called and they were out that morning, it's a quick response, a very quick diagnostic and I came home from work and they told me a little bit about the geothermal and how it operates. It was $120 for them to come out, they were probably out here an hour and a half or so.

On January 18th 2013, my 30+ year old furnace caught on fire. Luckilly I was home before it spread to the house, but I was without heat going into the coldest weekend in 2 years. My old furnace had finally bit the dust. My air conditioning unit was built back in 1961 and it was in need of replacement too. As I found out, my old furnace was maybe 60% efficient.
I called 3 companies for estimates. Each of them came to my home and gave me a couple different options. All of them were pretty good about explaining the pro's and con's on the various systems, and all of them were pretty much in the same ballpark in regards to pricing when I compared apple to apples.
My saleperson from Garber was Bart Holland. After he did his measuring, he made another appointment to present his quote. He was on time and called before he came over. Overall, his presentation was the most complete. All of my options, 3, were clearly presented complete with all the literature, pricing and energy qualifying discounts shown. Bart did not high pressure us at all. The system that I chose was the most expensive one out of all the 3 companies, but it was clearly a better system. The best system from the other 2 companies only had a 2 stage furnace as their top choice where as Garber had a modulating furnace as theirs. It also had a higher efficiency rating as did the air conditioner unit.
My wife really liked their thermostat better than what the other companies had. We didn't want a super complicated thermostat display that was hooked up to the internet and all that nonsense. Bart answered all of our questions.
The system that we chose was the Carrier Infinity System:
Carrier 98% Modulating Variable Speed Furnace
Carrier 21 Seer 2 Stage A/C unit
Everything else, A/C coil, thermostat etc was all Carrier.
The quote included everything. Getting rid of the old unit, all electrical, gas and drainage hook ups.
Bart was able to schedule the installers for the next day since all the items were in stock.
The installers showed up on time as promised. They both were very polite, clean cut and knew what they were doing. They had our new system up and running the same day. They cleaned up after themselves and did a very precise and clean install. They answered any questions and made sure to inform us of all the new operations that the furnace would do compared to our old unit. They were by far some of the most professional workers that I've ever had in my home. One of the installers came back the second day, right on time, and completed the install of the A/C unit. When he left, had totally cleaned up any mess that he might have made.
They made me feel that I had made the right decision and it was a very positive experience. You get what you pay for and this was not an easy decision to make due to the fact that it was allot of money to spend.
Overall, I am completely pleased with the work they performed and the value that I got.
I had one question that I presented to Bart upon completeion. I'll post an addition to my review if it doesn't get answered, but I totally expect that it will.

There is no excuse for not calling to cancel or postpone an appointment. Twice Mr. Holland for Garber Heating and Cooling has dropped the ball.

On Monday, April 27, the sales manager came to our house to give us a quote on a new central heating and air conditioning system. He was only here a short time, and instead of measuring the house to calculate the heating and cooling load, he asked my wife what the square footage of the house was. He then left, telling my wife he would send me a quote by email in a couple of days. Thursday evening, I had not received a quote, so I sent him an email. Friday evening, I still had no quote or response to my email, so I posted a question on his company's web site, stating that I was ready to purchase a system and that his was the last quote I was waiting on. I also stated that if I did not have a quote from him by the evening of Monday, May 4, that I would have to go with another company, whose representatives all gave us quotes on the day of their visit. On Saturday morning, May 2, I received an email from Tim stating "There is no way that I will have the quote done by Monday, so go ahead with someone else. I don't know how you know that I didn't take measurements since you weren't there, but I stepped off the house and took window measurements." It' true, I was not here, but my wife was. We have a two story house, with different sized windows, which he did not measure, and we have several additions on the house, which are difficult to measure by "stepping off". "Stepping off" is not a very accurate method to measure a house anyway. He also had no idea how much insulation was in our walls or attic. All of this information as well as accurate measurements are necessary for computing a heating and cooling load for today's systems. With the current economic climate, I would think that a business would do whatever they can to gain a cash paying customer who is ready to make a purchase, rather than refer the potential customer to a competitor. I chose a competitor, who was more than happy to have my business, and am very happy with my decision.
