"Excellent job! We hired the company for few projects- custom walk-in closets, cabinets and laundry. The precision and attention to detail was exceptional. It was very nice to work with and they listened to every request we made. We were very pleased with the overall experience and will hire them again. Strongly recommend."

Customers say: True professional

"It was a pleasure working with them; which is awful important considering that my wife and I were working from home throughout the project. They were always respectful of our space, did not make a racket in the home, and handled all of the labor (including moving the furniture). Based on my other quote, I believe I got my moneys worth and then some; considering how very easy and convenient it was. I was really pleased with Brian and his team; I intend to hire them again for an exterior painting project next Spring."

"Last night we hired Redo Cabinets to do a kitchen remodel. We chose them because of their excellent reviews and ratings from Google, Home Advisor and Better Business Bureau. We were very happy with the professionalism of their sales team and the thoroughness of their presentation. We look forward to the project starting in late July and we will post another review after they complete the installation. We are confident that it will go well because of the excellent follow up already received 12 hours later from Alex in their production department. Thanks to Brad, Thomas and to Chris for walking us through the front end of this process."

"Absolutely amazing, I don't even know where to start. I am doing a full renovation on a condo in Chicago and first met Val and Flo for an estimate on getting the kitchen framed. Val is extremely responsive and scheduling was easy. There are absolutely no games and their prices, in my opinion, are low for the quality of service they provide. Flo is the kind of person who takes extreme pride in his work and it shows. He pointed out issues that I was not aware of that also needed to be fixed and took care of them with no problems. I have used them to do the framing in my kitchen, install my cabinets, and install my new base trim/shoe base. Flo is always very considerate and careful while doing his work and has always left the place clean. I cannot recommend their services enough!"

Closets questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to build a closet varies widely depending on the project's size, complexity, and level of customization. On average, construction can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

A simple reach-in closet might be completed in less than a day, while a more complex walk-in closet could take one to two days or more. A typical project often falls in the 2-to-5-day range. However, a large, highly customized walk-in closet that requires structural changes, like moving a load-bearing wall, will take significantly longer.

A professional contractor can provide the most accurate time estimate for your specific project. If you are planning a DIY build, it is best to budget additional time.

The features you choose for your laundry room to make it perfect depend largely on how you'll use the space, the size of your family, and their laundry needs. A perfect laundry room will have ample storage space, a clothes washer and dryer that are large enough for your needs and have good convenience features, and enough room to move around and work with enough countertop space to make laundry chores as easy as possible.

Most packing services take 4-12 hours, while unpacking may take 1-2 days, depending on volume.

Yes, 12-inch shelves are often considered the standard closet shelf depth for storing folded clothing, shoes, and small containers. However, if you plan to store bulky items such as blankets, baskets, or cleaning supplies, you may want to go deeper. For specialized layouts, an adjustable system can give you more flexibility.

On average, building a custom or built-in closet costs around $2,100. However, the total price can range from as little as $500 for a simple DIY project to $6,000 or more for a large, high-end custom closet. Most projects typically fall between $1,500 and $5,000.

The final cost depends on several factors, including the closet's size, type, materials, and features. Here is a general cost breakdown by closet type:

  • Reach-in closet: $500 to $1,500

  • Walk-in closet: $750 to $5,000

  • Wardrobe: $2,000 to $6,000 or more

Choosing a prefabricated closet system is generally less expensive than a fully custom build. The scope of design and construction services will also significantly impact the price.
