Do not hire Bill and his team. Hired them for a bathroom remodel and I am still having issues with the shoddy work that was done. Leaking from my hall bathroom and called a plumber- Bill and his guy put the fixtures on wrong (handle was upside down) and never sealed them and used the wrong connectors - the plumber said you could tell the person doing the work didn't know the right way to do it. Bill was horrible to work with, he was rude and condescending. Made promises to do work he clearly was not skilled for. We have had 2 years of fixing his mistakes, so many issues and it cost us so much more money because will not let him in our home again. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE - ensure you hire someone who really can do the work and not just say they can. We took Bill as a referral and we regret it. He may be able to do handiwork but not remodeling.

"Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Let’s start by addressing a few things. The plumbing was installed by a licensed plumber. A shower handle is a gravity fed valve it can only be put on one way. If this was the case for the last two years your shower would not have been working. The conversation you mentioned was with an employee that was since fired from the business. We made many trips back and fourth from your home. These trips were to walk through the job and make minor changes for your family. We have photos and videos for anyone who would have any questions about this job. We apologize that you feel you have been wronged. Many times I read about people not having a contractor not answer their phones after being given money. Any time I have been asked to do anything we have done exactly that."

I saved for a very long time for my bathroom remodel. I spent months searching for a remodeling company . I had such high hopes, Bill promised to take care of this project . Well its been a week since the project was completed and I could cry. Bill and his team paid NO attention to detail. It looks great on the surface, if you don"t look too closely ,because of the tile , cabinetry , lighting , hardware, etc that I purchased. When you look closer you see; the bathtub is not installed correctly ,the tile that Bill finished is so jacked up and uneven it looks horrible , I actually had to pull off 16 trim tiles and reinstall them ,thankfully the adhesive was still wet. He broke 15 tiles trying to do tile work . I have never tiled and when I fixed it perfectly I did not break one tile. I actually had to re tile 16 trim tiles!!! the shower hardware was not put on correctly , had to pay a plumber to come and reinstall it correctly . the plumbing under the sink , my plumber just shook his head !!! There is adhesive everywhere on my tile , the caulking is a mess, the towel bar fell off the wall and there was a huge hole in the wall , not sure how that happened ? They painted the trim the same color as the walls ??? I have to have the ceiling redone the taping job is so bad . He broken the cover off my window handle , lost the trim piece for the threshold and took zero responsibility . Oh and not to mention I'll have to redo my landscaping by my door because grout was dumped there and it has hardened into a huge ugly mess . I paid for a dumpster and have a garage full of boxes that should have been removed . Bill before you respond " Why didn't you say something ?" I paid a lot of money for a professional to remodel my bathroom , I should not have to babysit a contractor every step of the way . I relied on your company to do a professional job , not just hurry through for the money with crap work and an attitude.

"We apologize as this review was never brought to our attention until now. The installer for this job has been fired because of this bathroom. Part of the issue there was issues with this remodel was the timeline. Your home being an older home with past water damage issues made it a rather difficult job. The home also only has one bathroom. A home with a single bathroom always makes things more stressful for those living in the home. We did everything within our powers to keep your home remodeling project moving. If we can do anything for you and your family please let us know"

He came and ended up doing the other bathroom that I really did not want to be done. He said the other bathroom was not worth doing since the walls needed to be replaced. He also charged me extra for the grout used, though there was nothing specified about extra costs for the grout. After filling out the review for him, he came back to refute the grades given.

As soon as he arrived he said there was an additional charge of $75 for supplies. This had never been mentioned on the phone. As nearly as we can estimate, he used about one tube of caulking for the job.
We paid $99 for three hours, and the job took less than an hour. He was going to leave but he had said on the phone that he did a variety of handyman jobs, and I mistakenly assumed that we had already paid for additional time. We asked him about a couple of electrical problems and he gave my husband advice on what to do. Then he changed an outlet plug. When he left he ask for $75 plus $50 for changing the plug. If he had told us he was going to charge for the additional service, we would not have had the outlet changed. It was in a child's bedroom behind a bed and we would never pay $50 to have the color changed since it was already in working condition.
We will share responsibility for the problems since we should have asked more questions in the beginning. It was an expensive lesson to learn!

The service turned out fine. There were no additional costs, and I provided the caulk for them to caulk.

I purchased an Angie's Deal to have some caulk work done ($99/three hours of work). Unfortunately for me, I did not have three hours of work that needed to be done, but I purchased it anyway. In addition to the cost, there was a $75 fee for materials. So I did not get my money's worth. But B&G did do a good job with the work they did for us, and gave us some feedback for future projects.

I bought a deal from the Angie's list. 3 Man hour for Caulking for 99 dollars. They say they were super busy that he will call to schedule, and it took a month to schedule the service. When they came, they said it was going to be 2 men for 1.5 hours. Then, even after we asked him to take his boots off (snow everywhere outside), he said he will be right out, and refused to take off his boots. And he walked around the house even to the master bedroom in his boots. He finally put cover on his boots when he came back with his materials. However, one person was just "supervising" as he said that was his job, sipping coffee. And only the other guy was working. And for one kitchen sink wall and one shower, they used all 1.5 hours and used very little bit of sealant and charged 75 dollars for the materials.

I purchased the Angies list deal for 3 hours of caulk and grout restoration. We were in contact with Bill quickly which was good.
Before we even had him out to see our house, he was already telling my wife he probably would only be at our house for only an hour. And he was saying it would be an additional $75 for materials. Fixed cost. Again, without ever seeing our house and needs. Not a statement like "I'lll charge you for the material that I use and they can typically run on the high side up to $70 depending on the job".
I called him back and told him my main goals of some caulk in the bathrooms, grout replacement around tiles that is broken or missing and major emphasis on grout restoration on the floor of the master bath shower. I asked about his bringing some additional chemicals /etc. to make sure he can get the grout restored in the master bath to which he agreed.
About an hour after he arrived, he was calling me at work asking what else he needed to do. I asked about the shower and he said he didn't do the grout cleaning/restoration ---that was our exact conversation from the prior week which was conveniently "misunderstood". Only regrouting or recaulking is what he will do. We let him go because it wasn't worth the extra babysitting.
The work that he did do was poor. He didn't address the grout on the floor as requested. Caulking was sloppy; huge caulk bead which looks bad compared to existing caulk work. I talked to him the next day and after an unprofessional rant he then offered to come back out to address areas he missed for regrouting; again no offer for the tile grout restoration which was the main reason we had him out. We didn't care to have him back.
I'm was completely unsatisfied. $175 for 1 hour and a few $3 tubes caulk.

Bill came called and came out the day that I put the request online. He filled the holes left by the deteriorateds stone grout so that I could wait until spring to have the big work done. While he was on the roof, he cleaned the gutter.

He was very professional in contacting me right away. His actual job was mediocre. I think I could have done a better job. He charged me an additional $75.00 for a material which I felt was deceptive.

Bill was very responsive and friendly on the phone. He went out the next day and took care of business. He sent me pictures on the spot (since my tenant was at the location). I would definitely use him again.

Bill is extremely knowledgable of construction and has become our go to guy for our architectural firm. For bidding and for work to be performed. He holds one of the highest quality of craftsmanship that i have seen in the northern Illinois and chicago area. As i am a construction superintendent i have seen a lot of jobs go bad. Bill on the other hand stays extremely organized and sticks to his budget numbers. He is always calling and informing any situations on the job site and is very easy to work with. If you are looking for a honest Sub contractor Bill is your only way to go.
