Other companies deemed the porch and balcony unsafe it was torn down I would never in my life hire this company again. Stamped concrete overlays last about 25 years when properly installed and cared for. Installing an overlay on top of structurally sound concrete helps ensure it reaches its full lifespan. A local stamped concrete pro should finish and seal the concrete upon installation, and you should reseal the overlay every three to five years. Stamped concrete overlays are durable, long-lasting, and a beautiful way to refresh a space.

Concrete resurfacing is the process of applying a new, thin layer of concrete over an existing concrete slab to give it a fresh appearance. The new layer is often between 1/4-inch and 1-inch thick, so it involves much less material than you’d need to pour a new slab, which is often 4 inches thick. Resurfacing also gives you the opportunity to add color or texture to your slab without totally replacing it.

Routine cleaning with light detergents, avoiding abrasives, and timely addressing chips prolong the new surface appearance.

You can use epoxy-based concrete fillers to repair small cracks and dents in the floor. For larger damages, remove any debris, then patch the cracks or holes with concrete repair products or resurface the entire floor. We recommend using fast-curing products that cure in four hours. You can also buy a pre-mixed concrete patch and leveler if you are only repairing parts of your floor.

Concrete blemishes such as chipped steps or small cracks are fixable with patching. For bigger jobs, including driveway repair and cracks wider than a 1/4 of an inch, patches will only serve as a temporary fix. Resurfacing is ideal when the surface is showing more widespread wear—like if it’s pitted, rough, or has lots of cracks. Resurfacing gives your concrete a fresh, like-new appearance without needing a full replacement.

When the concrete is severely cracked, sinking, or otherwise structurally unsound, replacing it might be your best option. Replacement ensures the safety and longevity of the surface in this case.
