Full waterproofing and foundation stabilization company that is family owned and operated since 1978. No contractors - we use only our trained employees. Fully licensed, bonded and insured. "AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Here is a list so you can read everything we’ve been through with this company. Spent over $11,000 in 2020 to have interior drain tile and a landing drain connected to a new sump pump Had water enter through the doorway by the drain 3 times since 2020, with the most water coming inside September of 2022 Called Safeguard in September 2022. Safeguard refused to even check the system, sent us a quote for $1,800 more work to “fix us up” without even checking anything on our property Had a 3rd party company out to inspect the drain that Safeguard refused to check. Discovered they breached our contract and connected the drain to village stormwater tiling without our consent or the consent of the village. Have never received as much as an apology. Instead, Safeguard blamed us saying the drain was clogged with leaves, and that is why we flooded. This was disproved by Roto-Rooter. Update as of 3/3/2023 AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Instead, Safeguard blamed us saying the drain was clogged with leaves, and that is why we flooded. This was disproved by Roto-Rooter. The company refused to fix anything and did not respond to requests until I submitted a formal complaint on the BBB website exposing the breach of contract Have spent months (5) trying to come to an agreement we are comfortable with in order to have them out to fix the work. They do say they will repair the work for free, BUT… They tried to get us to waive their liability should the village fine us for the stormwater connection. There will be NO WARRANTY of this free work. So, if the concrete starts breaking a few months after the fix, they’re not liable. They claim they did not connect the drain incorrectly, and they are doing this fix to appease us (even though I have my contact that clearly states what was to be done, and a signed letter from the president stating that they did in fact do something else). As a result, we asked for a simple 1 year work and materials warranty just to ease our fears about something breaking in the future. Their response- WE WILL NOT ALTER THIS CONTRACT. Bob, John and Karen have been nothing but awful to work with. They are argumentative at best. The amount of times sarcasm and ALL CAPS have been used in emails by Karen, as well as the amount of times my husband has been screamed at over the phone or in person by Bob and John are immeasurable. As soon as you write them a check and they finish the work, they’re done. Even if they blatantly breach your contract (like with us), or the work is faulty, I believe they will not fix or stand by anything. They claim they have one of the strongest warranties in the business- I assure you this is a lie. If they do work and it never breaks, consider yourself lucky, because if something goes wrong they will not help you in any way shape or form to solve the problem, in my opinion. Instead, they will blame you as the customer and ignore you until you become too loud to ignore. Do yourself a favor, spend a little bit more money and go somewhere else that actually backs up their work and treats their consumers well. This is not that place. RUN AWAY. Concrete Ink originated in 2011 with a vision of providing concrete flooring solutions for residential customers. We began our foray into the decorative concrete flooring business with the coloring (acid staining), and polishing of existing residential concrete basement floors. Creating an artful finished floor solution out of the existing 4″ thick concrete substrate proved to be a perfect marriage of utility and beauty. Since that time, we have been installing, training and broadening our scope of efforts to include retail, commercial and industrial flooring solutions for our clients. The positive feedback and increased demand for our residential work validated our original premise, and opened our eyes to the infinite creative possibilities within our industry. Over the years, we have focused on honing our skills by seeking out and training with the best instructors and installers in our industry. Our continued commitment to expanding our knowledge has sent us to California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Utah. Our client base now reaches across the United States, and we are proud of our reputation and results. We look forward to working with you soon! Contact us today for a FREE estimate

Basement Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

You can DIY basement waterproofing in some ways to help save on the overall costs. If your basement isn’t experiencing a lot of water but is noticeably humid, you can try running a dehumidifier that will pull the excess water out of the air. If you notice water leaking due to outdoor drainage issues, you can add downspout extensions to keep rainwater away from your home.

However, if the problem is more severe and requires a more extensive solution, it’s best to call a basement waterproofing professional to assess the treatment you need and install waterproofing safeguards properly. Since keeping water out of your basement is important, ensuring this job is done correctly the first time is best.

While it’s possible to live in a damp basement, it’s usually not healthy to do so. Damp air affects your breathing, and it also promotes mold growth and pest infestation that can make living in a damp basement dangerous. You should plan to resolve any moisture issues and set up preventative measures before using your basement as a living space.

Due to the nature of basements, some level of waterproofing is necessary to prevent water from seeping in and causing damage. Some definitive signs that your basement needs waterproofing measures or needs existing waterproofing measures need to be updated include:

  • Water in your basement, including damp walls or puddles on the floor

  • Mold spots in your basement

  • Musty smells or odors

  • Warped doors or walls

  • Cracks in walls

  • Insect issues, such as cockroaches and termites

The best way to fix dampness in walls is to find the root cause and fix the underlying issue. After that, you’ll need to dry the wall with a heavy-duty fan and potentially a dehumidifier. If the wall has water damage, you can remove the damaged drywall, patch it with a new piece, and then paint it to match the rest of the wall.

Heavy rain can affect a leach field because the extra rain can cause the groundwater level to rise. This leads the soil around the leach field to become saturated with rainwater, so it’s no longer able to take in effluent from the leach lines for final treatment. Heavy rainfall can cause the leach field to flood.
