"The Surface Doctors treated my shower and tub in 2020. They were prompt, polite, and the cost and process was exactly as described. Recently, I noticed a chip in the tub floor, probably from a dropped bottle, and that in some spots the caulk had separated. So I contacted them again to schedule a time to repair it. Again, our technician Jorge, the same person who did the original work, was right on time, exceptionally polite, and completed the work efficiently. In fact, he was done in about 30 minutes. I couldn't be happier!"

"I take a lot of pride in my home, and as a fur mom, I need spaces that are both beautiful and practical. My bathroom was starting to feel outdated, so I decided it was time to upgrade the bathtub and replace the old fixtures. Century City Baths made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. The installation team was professional, respectful, and meticulous. They kept everything clean throughout the project and paid close attention to every detail. Customers say: True professional

"We hired Nermin for a kitchen and bath remodel and couldn't have been happier. He is extremely thorough, honest, and reliable in his work. There were several unforseen glitches in what we had planned, and Nermin was able to troubleshoot and come up with solutions to make the final remodel much more thorough and well done than the work we were replacing! He not only does high quality work, but has a good sense of style/aesthetic. Everything he did was thoughtfully planned and expertly executed. I will be hiring him again for any future work in my condo."

"I’ve always wanted a second bathroom. I contacted JK Complete R&C. Jack came to my home and assessed the would be project. Jack gave me a reasonable price, start and proposed finish date. Then I met the crew John, Mike and Ziggy. We had a great relationship. Everything that was to be accomplished was explained to me on a daily bases. By the end of the project we had a bond and it felt like family. I also learned quite a bit in the process. I am total fascinated with my new bathroom. I have already recommended JK Complete to family members."

"Don was not only the lowest quote we received but did a phenomenal job! The shower had massive tiles and stone to work with all amazing work. Tile is A+++. The shower was state of the art and very complicated with 7 heads and electronic controls. Perfect. All the other work was just as good. Quote was accurate. You will not go wrong hiring Don! Very very pleased"

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The average cost to convert a tub to a shower is around $3,000, but prices can range from $1,000 to as high as $15,000. A more typical range is between $1,200 and $8,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the amount of plumbing work required, the size of the shower, and the type of materials and fixtures chosen. A prefabricated shower stall is a more budget-friendly option, while a custom shower with features like luxury tiles, unique tiling, smart technology, or accessibility features will be at the higher end of the cost spectrum.

Adding a soaking tub can increase your return on investment (ROI) for a bathroom remodel, with many people recouping a 60% ROI when adding a soaking tub. To get the best value from installing a soaking tub, make sure that your floor plan allows the tub to act as a focal point in your bathroom, adding aesthetic value as well as being practical.

A good soaking tub will allow you to completely submerge yourself in the water, so it needs to be at least 20 inches deep. Luxury soaking tubs are 24 inches deep so that you can easily have enough space to be submerged in the water once the tub is full.

Technically, yes, you can put a shower on a Roman tub, but it's not common. The vast majority of Roman tubs are standalone models. Adding a shower would involve installing a ceiling-mounted curtain rod or a custom glass enclosure, as well as redoing the plumbing, making it neither easy nor budget-friendly.

You should consider replacing your bathtub if the tub—or any potential refinishing—is older than about 20 years old. However, acrylic and fiberglass bathtubs have a shorter lifespan (about 10 to 15 years). You may decide to replace your bathtub sooner if there are stains or mold you can’t get rid of, no matter how much you clean it, or if you find leaks and cracks that could lead to costly water damage.
