"Pat was wonderful. Very attentive and professional. Our water heater replacement was a huge challenge. It was located in a tight closet under a staircase and several gas lines had to be removed just to get it out. He then had to cut one of the top supply lines because the nut had seized up. Once he got it out and the new one was placed in, we realized the diameter was slightly larger then the old one was. After some maneuvering, it fit perfectly. One of the top supply lines had to be reconfigured, and another challenge was that it was hard to melt the soder to join the pipe together because of the difficulty to see, but Pat nailed it. No leaks! Great job! Highly recommended!"

Small jobs welcome

I’m Adam majority of my skills and talents are for outside your home. I have a career in underground construction where I replace, install, and fix pipes for water, sanitary, and drainage from 72” concrete pipe 1/2” sprinkler lines. If you are having issues with water drainage, septic or really anything underground I’m your guy. I specialize in in a wide range of landscaping such as mulch beds, garden boxes, trimming and removing bushes, and planting trees&bushes. Also I can trim or remove that old tree that has been an obstacle or eye sore for you. I grew up helping my dad and grandfather in their landscaping business. I started running a chainsaw when I was 9 yrs old. Patios, retaining walls, or flagstone for walkways or edging I can give them a fresh new look or I can install them from a blank canvas. Mother nature can be rough on any deck or fence over years and can become an eye sore or even dangerous I can give them new life for the summer. Hope to hear from you soon.

"Very nice and even came out on a Saturday. I always pay with Credit Cards, never use checks or cash. They don't accept Credit Cards. I felt bad that I was unprepared and had to go to an ATM for cash. The reason for my lower rating is the tub is still not draining. For the sink he had me inspect the work. For the tub he didn't."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Options include standard, dual-flush, and low-flow models. Choose based on water efficiency and design preferences.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common plumbing practice that can simplify installation and save space. When sharing a vent, it's important that the toilet is located downstream from all other fixtures. You will also need to ensure the vent pipe is large enough to handle the demands of all connected fixtures without compromising its effectiveness. Because requirements can vary, you should always check your local building and plumbing codes. Consulting a qualified plumber is recommended to ensure the vent is properly sized, installed, and adheres to all local regulations.

After flushing the toilet, you should have about half a tank full of water. While the exact amount of water you’ll have will vary, you want to make sure you have enough to cover the bottom of the bowl and enough to sit above the P-trap drain. While low water in your toilet bowl can indicate a problem, too much water can also be cause for concern.

You generally cannot replace a 10-inch rough-in toilet with a 12-inch model without making significant plumbing updates. A 12-inch rough-in toilet will not fit a 10-inch rough-in space because the floor drain is in the wrong position. To accommodate the larger toilet, you would need to move the drainpipe, which could cost between $0.75 and $30 per linear foot, plus labor. In most cases, it is more cost-effective and simpler to purchase a new 10-inch rough-in toilet. However, it is possible to install a 10-inch rough-in toilet in a 12-inch space by using a longer connector.

Many homeowners stress about cleaning before an emergency plumber arrives, but you’re far better off doing the following while you wait for your plumber to get to your home:

  • Shut the water off at your water main if you have a leak or a burst pipe

  • Avoid using any water fixtures in your home, including appliances

  • Clear a path to the problem area so that it’s easily accessible

  • Consider shutting your breaker if you’re concerned that the leak may affect your electrical system
